OK here I am not- over 1 month into Phen... I have still only lost a bit more than 10 pounds... I eat right, no more soda, lots of water! I am stuck at 186 and I dont know what else to do! Excercise... I run after 2 kids after I work my fulltime job, so yes I get excercise!
On the up side, a guy at work said to me today- "are you shrinking"... I said WOW! Thanks for noticing- I only lost a little but it is nice to have SOMEONE notice!

It's awesome that you have lost 12 pounds in a month...that is over 6% of your total weight that is gone!!! In my first month..I lost about 15 pounds...6% of my ttl weight would have been 17 pounds. So you did better than me ~ Remeber that the less you weigh...the slower it is...because you don't have as much weight to "spare" Maybe looking at percentages will help you instead of actual pounds. It would be unrealistic to think you would lose 10% in one month...for me that woud have been almost 30 pounds ( 28.6 to be exact lol) I never would have tried to lose that much in a month....it would have been hard and unhealthy....so try percentages...see if that helps to to feel better.
Also....muscle weighs more then fat...so if you are getting more exercize and building muscle...your weight might not change...but the inches are coming off...how are your clothes fitting?
Good Luck...but I think you did a great job in one month

    steftelle-

i am in the EXACT same boat as you!!! i hear about all these people loosing all this weight - and even when i went to my doctor he said that i was on the "lower end" of weight loss. and lately mine has been fluctuating for a little over two weeks...one day it is 187.5 the next it's 184.5 - then 186 then 187 then 184, i could go on...it looks like you and I are close to the same weight...how tall are you?

    p.s. i am sooooo frustrated!

Hi ladies.. I just wanted to say try not to get too frustrated. I also hovered over one # for a long time (about 3 weeks) and it was very discouraging. I like to think it was my body's way of reassessing the weight before letting go of more. Keep up the good eating and exercising and the numbers will start to move again soon. Most importantly, don't undo all the good work you have done... keep on track.

I also lost more the first month and then slowed down - it's normal and to be expected. 12 lbs (6%) in 4 short weeks is amazing progress.. A loss is a loss..

    Good luck to you..

I would think that you would need some "EXTRA" exercise. I tried an inverval workout and that has really helped me. I bought it from somewhere like target or walmart. Its called " Walk Slim" the fast start & 3 fast miles. Leslie Sansone is who put the videos out. She's a lot of fun in the videos! You can stop at anytime, but you have the option to do 5 miles total!
The Leslie is awesome and really gets you into the workout. Its a butt kicker, but I really don't feel like I am working! I feel like I am getting a lot from just stepping up my walk.

Leslie says in the video that if you are doing a routine right now and not loosing weight... you need to step it up a notch and do intervals where you get many differnt workouts. You body needs something different.

Hope this helps... I guess its a shot in the dark!

    Take care!
Loosing is hard--gaining is easy, but if we work together we can keep it off!

Keep the encouragement coming!! I need it!

I lost 7 pounds my first month on Phen and was initially disappointed until I checked my measurements. After five and one-half weeks, I have lost a total of 9 pounds and most importantly have lost well over 14 inches, including 3 inches from my waist, 4 inches from my abdomen, and 2 inches from my hips. The scale is not always the best measure of what is going on with your body. An article on hussmanfitness dot org really helped me.

Terry T. you just got me to such a better place then I was 2 minutes ago. I never looked at the total percentage before and even though it is only 7% when you say 7% of 45% (which is approx. the percentage of weight I would like to lose), that only leaves 38%.
75 lbs "sounds" more intimidating then 38%.
Thanks for that, I have been in a bad place here lately.

Stef, dont give up. The people on these boards are so helpful. I recently GAINED back about 15 lbs, the support here is totally helping get me back to where I need my head to be. Kepp coming here and checking back. I find it so helpful to know that so many others are in the same boat and know how I feel.

I lost 25 pounds and was at a standstill for 2 months. I added CLA and 5-htp to my routine (you can find them in the vitamin section of any drug store) and decided to eat healthier. Although low fat and low calorie foods can keep you from eating too many calories, the way your body processes these foods can keep you from seeing the progress you are looking for. I decided to cut out sugar and carbs from my diet and am now eating lean meats (chicken, fish, turkey) and vegetables. Sure it's hard, but if you read how celebraties and such drop the weight, it's by having a diet of lean meats and vegetables. The combination of this diet and adding CLA and 5-htp has kept me steady at losing 2-3 pounds a week for the past month. In July I lost 13 pounds. Added to my prior 25 pounds leads to a total weight loss of 38 pounds.

Just don't get discouraged. I would have been easy for me to quit when I didn't lose any weight for 2 months straight. But you have to keep your eye on your goal and just keep at it. You may have only lost 12 pounds in one month, but that's 12 less than you had before.

like everyone else i am going to say don't give up,the pounds will start coming off again. i was at a standstill for a complete month at the same weight, nothing came off. then all of a sudden it kicked in again and i am down almost 3lbs in one week. i don't want you to think that chasing after kids is any light duty,i have done it myself but i have always been told that when you do excercise you have to do it continually to get your heartrate up to start your metabolism and the fat burning. i work in the offices at walmart and i see these associates on the floor walking around with the pedometers tracking their steps for excercise but a couple of them were told that the walking they do at work isn't going to help much cuz it's not continual and doesn't get your heartrate up which make sense to me. so maybe you can add in the interval excercise 'losingit' was talking about.
i also have been taking CLA and 5htp for about 5 months now and it does work,i swear by it. sorry this is so long but i hope it helps a lil.
