If you are up 7 pounds and nothing has happened, you are really backed up and are probably in for a doozy, like when L&D had that blockage. This stuff is not a fluke, please hang in there...I'm sorry it's not working for you guys yet. It will. Steep your tea longer, ease up on the fiber for a day or 2 (if you are using a full scoop), and drink lots of water. Don't give up yet, this will change your life once your body adjusts.

I'm on day 16 and loving the regularity. Still no weird hings coming out of me, just lots of life-affirming movements .

MsDanielleNJ-I think you are missing the target. You SHOULD NOT BE TAKING A LAXATIVE PILL. You are trying fix the abuse done to your body over the past years not add to the problem. Your fiber is fighting the stuff you are putting into now instead of getting rid of the plaque built up. I think the best advice for anyone one not seeing the results they were expecting look at your eating habits. I know it says you don't have to change, but they suggest...
Although no particular diet is needed for these programs to work, eating healthy foods is always a good idea. A diet containing plenty of organic fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds complements this program very well. Try to avoid or minimize red meats, cured meats, organ meats, refined foods, canned foods, sugar, salt, saturated fats, coffee, alcohol, food additives, colorings and preservatives, as well as nicotine while cleansing.

Here is what they say about results...
Each person is unique. Some people actually experience results within 24 hours, others feel different within a few days, and still others report that it takes 3 or 4 weeks. Most people start reporting increased energy after a week or two. If you’re interested in seeing ‘visible’ results as far as accumulated buildup or parasites go, we recommend you pay attention to what’s leaving your body every day. You may see some amazing things in the toilet! Parasites are often hiding inside the stool, or at the bottom. Other times, they are too small for the human eye to see (70% of parasites are microscopic). But there are other signs that tell you that your body is cleansing. Is your stool stronger smelling? Does it have different colors in it? Are there much larger amounts than before? Is there a lot of mucus in it? Are you going to the bathroom more often? If you answer yes to any of these, then you’ll know you’re on your way to a cleaner, healthier body.

Remember too, if you are not happy, they have a money back guarantee for 60 days. Hope this helps

I am not missing any target...I only took it on Day 3 after not being able to go for some days. I would rather take a laxative to get moving than to sit for days with all this fiber and things I ate stuck in me. I am tempted to take another one if nothing happens tomorrow. The senna in the tea is not even working. I had better results with the Dieters Tea and the Chinese Green tea which only costs about $5. Apparently the Dr N is not working for me. Today is day 6 started 4 pills and whole scoop of Fiber. It is 10 am and nothing yet. If nothing happens within 2-3 weeks as stated on the box then I am giving this up. I am trying to lose weight not gain it and that is what has been happening since I been on this stuff.

Dovelette, newmommy and I want it now where are you ? How are your results coming along-you were the first bunch to start so I am assuming you are almost at your 30 day mark. Any updates to motivate the ones, like me, that are not having any results?

Today is day 17 and I am doing a little experiment. I skipped the fiber this morning, but will still do the tea tonight. I just want to feel a day without fiber bloat and see how my bowels react with just the tea pushing through (as I will take it tonight like normal).

See, I'm starting to tire of feeling fantastically thin after 2-3 bowel movements in the morning and not have that feeling carry me all day long (because once I take the fiber, the bloat starts to build). Maybe it's all in my mind, and I'm not bloated with the fiber, I just think I am because everyone else says they are. So there's my little experiment.

Another hidden agenda is tomorrow's weigh in. I have lost 29 pounds, and tomorrow is my birthday, and I just want to see the scale read a 30 pound loss for it. I know, I'm too obsessed with the scale, but it's just a little thing I gotta do.

PS - MSDanielle, I know you are very frustrated. I would be too. Two thoughts: You could stop the fiber for a day or 2 and just do the tea...I'm afraid you are just building and building fiber bulk and not moving it out.

My other theory: if you haven't done a full scoop yet (today won't "count" until tomorrow), maybe you just have a high tolerance for the fiber. I did - because my diet was already high in fiber, so I started a full scoop and 10 minutes of tea steepage on day 3. Was your diet high in fiber before? Mine was.

Finally, I had trouble "getting going" in the beginning too because the phen is a wicked master of the colon. Sometimes I still have to use a suppository to get started (I've did this 3 times the first week, and just randomly yesterday).

Resmoo-thanks for responding to my frustration. I am not sure if I am full of fiber. I really don't eat much of it. I am scheduling me an appointment for the endocinologist to check my thyroid. This whole weight loss process has been difficult for me. I have been on and off Phen for about 2 years now. The last time I was on last year I lost about 18 pounds in 6 months (way too long). Now since January I am only about a good 8 down give or take the flunctuating and most of that came off in the first week and I am moving very slow now. I can't get out of the 200s and that is really pissing me off. My friend and I started the gym in February and she is losing more inches and I am guessing pounds than me and she only cut her diet a little and has never heard of Phen. She doesn't even know that I am on the Phen. I have always been a "slow mover" even before the phen so I was hoping the Dr N would help clean some things out and get me moving.

    MsDanielleNJ,

Was just reading your post and wanted to suggest a website to you http://www.drhotze.com. This website has a lot of good info about thyroid problems. I have been taking thyroid medicine for about 4/5 years now and it took me about 2 years to find a good endocinologist. They are out there finding them is another story. I might also suggest going on the armourthyroid.com website that is the name of the thyroid med. I am on, they have a link on there to find a physician in your area, thats how I found mine.

MsDanielleNJ-I wasn't noticing anything until today - day 8 I believe, just a "larger/softer" BM. I actually just take what I need to take, and continue on with the day. Meaning, I just don't think about it past that? I know it is difficult, and sometimes we get caught up in things. I know from personal experience, and having just getting out of being caught up w/ my weight that it is hard. Just keep on going, and don't forget you can call the 800 and ask questions... that's what the people get paid to do... Don't hesitate to call... (unless you already have then disregard).. Oh, and for the gym thing... some bodies take a longer than others to respond, keep that up too..One day it just may be the turning point, it will come there is no way if you are taking care of yourself all around that nothing would happen... Unless of course the thyroid is the problem, then that something else... Hang in there

My experiment worked - I lost some bloat and water, hitting my goal for the day.

MiPoo - my "poor man's version" of Dr. N would be any colon cleanser you can get at the vitamin/health store or online (Sonne's #9 is good, $12) plus an herbal tea with senna in it (like Super Dieter's, $3.50). You take the fiber in the morning and the tea before bed.

wow resmooo you are moving the scale i see. Great job almost 40 down in 2-3 months. You should see great results on your body especially since you are tall. If I can just get 30 down I would be happy. My 2 months I only got down about 8. You are doing great. Do you have pics?

Thanks, Danielle. People are noticing my new shape but I don't think it's all that dramatic...probably because I was in denial about how big I had gotten so quickly. I worked down from 236 to 194 two years ago and seemingly gained 45 pounds back overnight. Because of this, I'm really impatient to get back in the 190's - in my sick head it won't count until I get below where I was.

I'm thinking about starting a 199 challenge for April, would you play?

Eight pounds is nothing to sneeze at. Losing it slowly makes it more likely you'll keep it off...because you are making adjustments to your lifestyle that you can live with. Anyway, next time you go to the grocery store, go up to the dairy case and grab 8 boxes of stick butter for a reality check. You'll see how much that feels like and how much space it takes up, and that will make you proud.

How's the poop going? Where is everyone, in the bathroom? Ha.

I was actually 160 4 years ago and thought I needed to lose about 10 more and that was when I started the phen dr. Then the next year I was up to 185 so you know I was freaking out then I went back to the Dr and then I went up to 193 and now well another year or 2 I am in the 200's so when I went back this time the Dr. was saying you are going to wrong way when you first came here you were only 163 and now you have gained over 40 pounds. I have never before been past 175 so the whole weight thing started depressing me and I do not like the way I look, clothes do not seem to look good on me. Now I wish I was at that 163 mark or even the 185. I would never have complained then if I knew what I know now. The funny thing is I do not look that big to people because of my height (5"8) and I have a nice shape. So it just looks like I have curves. I really need to lose some inches (hips are about 46-47" and waist is about 36-37). I do not have much chest and to me (even though sometimes I wish I had a little more for sex appeal) that is good because that adds a bigger illusion to a lot of people.

It's day 9 I believe, and I seeped the tea for 7min last night. This morning had 2 bm's which is not typical for me. Husband is doing it too.. That is about all for the update for now. Oh, I have increased the water...at the beginning I was a bit freaked out since it was suggested to drink ONLY 2liters which to me is nothing/not enough. So, I just decided to do what I do normally as far as drinking water, and I feel better about doing this... Resmoo-congratulations that you met your bday goal!

MsDanielleNJ- I understand the water thing... I noticed that if I am sitting in front of the computer I seem to drink w/out thought. (I used to do this a lot)-I would have a liter of water with me driving..say it was a 20min excursion, I would then make sure I drank it all from point A to point B. (something to do when I am driving I guess(otherwise I'd eat instead) Another thing I do that I don't think about anymore, (besides since on DRN) I would wake up and have a huge glass of water while I was doing whatever, then I would make breakfast. Now, when I drink other things besides water I follow whatever the beverage of choice was with a glass of water. So after I have my coffee, I will drink water after (not necessarily right after but soon). I usually have juice(kids)/milk(both)/water in the house and that is it. On more thing, I do know at times I preferred to drink from a bottle-liter size anything smaller for me is a waste (physiologically it kept me in check of what I had drank, weird huh?)BUT NOW, I know how much the RO system and water softener cost us so that keeps me drinking!haha

Ok, I think I am going to stop now, I don't mean to drive you crazy with this but just some ideas. What works for me may not for you..

Hi everyone, Sorry I havent been around lately but the weather has been perfect lots of stuff to get done outside we live on a lake and my garden was screaming at me to get the blanket of leaves off them so they can start getting sun...YEAHHH its spring...I didnt go to the gym yesterday because I was getting more of a workout outside (I felt it last night before bed)
Anyways I decided to do what Resmoo did and stop taking the fiber for a couple of days and only drink the tea to see if I could get rid of some of the bloating....Dont get me wrong I do love the cleaning the fiber gives me it really is amazing what I had inside of me and tomorrow I will start taking the fiber again because it does help to get all the icky out--trust me there have been some gross stuff---The last couple of days my bathroom visits have been refreshing a little more liquidy still firm --but still with alot of fiber-- I really feel so much cleaner since starting Dr.N and in 2 days of not taking the fiber I have lost (or should I say pooped out)5 pounds. Just to see the scale finally move DOWN is fantastic...Im sure when I start taking the fiber again my weight might be put on hold again but I know as the fiber starts passing more the scale will move more then maybe I will see some of the body toning I have been doing...
Im not sure how to post pics but I will try to post a few here...Hope they work..

Pretty pics, L&D. Glad the break from the fiber worked for you.

    Any action today, Danielle?

I drank a lot of wine yesterday...which normally gives me extra poops whether I am on Dr N or not...but this morning I only went once and not all that much. I feel bloated and I like I have to go, but I can't for some reason. I'm drinking a lot of water today (more than normal, and I always drink a lot). Maybe when I get home from work I can relax and hang out on the toliet for awhile to get something moving.

    Oh, this life.

Just wanted to give an update. Something new, I had three BM's yesterday which I believe is not a "typical" venture for me. I can't say if...no I can say that I feel better in general. I haven't been working out for a WHILE, and I am going this morning.. kinda nervous that I will have to use the "facilities", and one may not be near. I am trying to time all of this, but frankly I have not a clue how to time fiber and exercise. Anyways, I will check back in a few either with a story or a sigh of relief!

Nothing crazy to report..I had a rare afternoon BM yesterday after I posted here complaining of bloat. And then 2 nice ones this morning, feeling good. 20 minutes of steep time seems to be the right amount for me now.

I am on another board (not this site) for people doing Dr N...as if I didn't talk enough about poop here...but anyway, this one woman tried 2 tea bags at once and it really got her moving...Danielle, this might be a good thing for you. And drink the water, my goodness, aren't you as thirsty as hell on phen? I drink a ton of water, I crave it...if an hour goes by and I haven't had any I start to panic...

when you stop the fiber for a few days do you also stop the paranil?

I got 1 movement on Saturday and one movement Sudnay and then one this morning so I am happy. But my TOM just came this morning and normally I go alot around this time.

Resmoo, no I do not get thirsty on Phen and if I do drink it is normally a juice or something. I am just not a water person. I have to make myself drink it. Wow 20 minutes- maybe I need to try that. I will not try 2 bags- that will mess up the days supply

I let the teas sit for 17 minutes last night and nothing happened this morning.

Has anyone ever tried the maple syrup and lemonade diet?

I'm up to 20 mins on the tea. I'm on day 23. I am taking a 3 day break the end of this week when I go out of town. Since I only got a 45 day supply (split 3 months with husband) that's all I'm going to do - so i will do the last 22 days and end it.

If I decide to start again later this year, I'll go a cheaper route (sonne's #9 and slim tea).

Danielle, I'm sorry you aren't getting better results. I honestly think (and you might get mad at me, but I'm going to say it anyway) that the reason you aren't losing weight as fast as your would like and the reason this cleanse isn't working is the lack of water intake. It's critical to moving things through and out of your body, for repairing cells, everything. You are dehydrated and your body is fighting you every step of the way. If you wanted the weight loss, the poop regularity, and the health as much as you say you do, drinking water would not be a problem. I know this is harsh, but you have decided to hold yourself back...it's that important. Think about it.

Resmoo you didn't say anything harsh at all. Since starting the Dr N. I have been drinking the 8 glasses of water daily. Today is Day 13 and nothing that great. I am starting to get at least 1 movement a day which is better than having none in 4 days. I have been steeping the tea for 20 mins for the past 4 days. The scale is still going up though. I go to the gym 30-40 min of cardio 2 times a week and do the biggest loser workout or gilads step aerobics twice a week. I am eating about 1000- 1200 calories a day. I am not sure if it is because the fiber. I think I need to really consider going to a doctor to get some test done on my systems.

I am not going to try this process again. If I do it will be the cheap version.

I have not done DRN, but I've done Cleanse Smart. I am curious to see if there would be much of a difference. What makes me hesitant to try DRN is that my system doesn't cope at all well with psyllim, which it looks like is source of fiber in DRN program.

If you are struggling with excessive bloating, maybe switch to a different source of fiber. In general, I eat a very very high fiber diet, but I just can't tolerate psyllim.

Whew - I'm glad you didn't get ticked with me, and that I misunderstood you with the water intake. It gets easier to drink lots of water, I swear.

Well, I think getting a full checkup is a great idea. I'd ask him for a full thyroid check too - not just a blood test because that doesn't always tell the whole story. A full thyroid check will include a ulrasound on your thyroid as well as looking at T3 and T4 levels or ratios or whatever in the blood. Google "hypothryroidism" for more info...check out symptoms. They include sluggish metabolism, unexplained weight gain, low basal temp (below 98.6), irregular periods, low energy, and other stuff I can't remember. Hopefully if it has to be anything, it's just this and you'll be put on synthroid which will click your furnace on.

I'm with you on the cheap version if I go on too. I have a 45 - day supply (hubby and I spilt 3 months). Once that's gone, we'll break and maybe do it cheaper in 6 - 12 months.

    L&D, how are you doing?

2sweet, the tea works in about 8 - 10 hours for most of us. If you work nights, I'd adjust everything to your schedule. It does make you a little sleepy, which is a nice effect since many of us on phen have insomnia.

Mipoo - I assume she meant the Dr N tea - but it really doesn't matter. Most diet/cleansing teas most active ingredient is senna. That's what makes you "go."

LeahAnn - after a while, your body gets used to the tea and that's why the steep time goes up for us. When I'm not on phen, I steep a little less because I'm not fighting the constipation effects of phen.

See you Saturday, I'm leaving town for a day or 2.
