Adipex vs. Phentermine?? Please help

Hi All,
First, let me say congratulations to all of you on this journey. Your stories & support of others is inspiring.

I'm 35 years old & have struggled with weight all my life. I've never tried Phen, but am now considering it. I'm trying to educate myself before talking to my doctor. I have some questions about the different kinds of Phen.

From what I can tell, there are 3 different kinds of Phentermine.

1. Adipex 37.5 mg(white pill with blue specs)
2. Fastin 30 mg (blue & clear capsule)
3. Ionamin 30 mg (yellow capsule)

Can anyone tell me what the difference is in these 3 versions of Phentermine -- and more importantly, can you tell me which version you have had success with?

From my understanding, adipex, fastin (off the market now) and ionamin are brand names for phentermine. I take the generic for adipex, the blue and white speck tablets. They work well for me. I actually take a whole in the morning, and sometimes a half in the afternoon if I need an extra kick. I used to take the blue and clear capsules...worked well at first, but could not split them, so I changed. I wish you luck in your journey, Im sure you will love your results.

I have had luck with both the yellow and white w/blue specks.

After my first week of the 30 mg (yellow), I jumped the gun and asked my doctor for a higher dose. I was getting hungry all the time and thought my pill wasn't working. After I got the Adipex, I decided to try and finish out the 30 mg. I turns out they work just fine if I take them a little later in the day (noon). Since then, I have been splitting my Adipex in half until my next M.D. appt. I will probably ask to go back on the 30 mg as I am worried about building the tolerance everyone talks about too quickly. One thing I have learned is Phen works better on some than it does others. I think I fall into the later catagory or maybe I just have high expectations. Reading through all 87 pages of past post has really helped me understand what is normal and what I could be doing differently.

So are you saying JUST Fastin is off the market or are the GENERIC blue and clear capsules off the market too? That's what I am using now-I got them in May from CVS.

hi im new to this site & just wanted to say i havent had much success in taking phen in the past few years...i had alot of luck with phen fen and fastin...but i love the energy i get from phen can some1 please message me where i get some

I may be wrong about the fastin, but I thought I had read somewhere that it, in its name brand form, was removed from the market. Dont quote me on that, but that is what I thought.

Fastin is off the market, it states that here on the Phentermine site, however, the generic for Fastin is Phen 30 mg, blue & clear capsules, which is what I am on now. There is a great section on this site that explains the differences between the pills.
