    Unhappy

Well I've returned from my doctors appointment with 3 band-aids on me..lol. They did some lab work to check out my numbers again and had a real problem finding a vein to cooperate..lol.

I lost 5 more pounds for a toal of 39lbs (officially 39.6..but I don't count the .x number..lol)in 3 months. My blood pressure was excellent and both my BMI & % body fat went down another point. They took my measurements again and my stomach is down 5.5 inches and my hips 5" down as well. That ratio (stomach to hips) is suppose to be 1:1 or lower (some kind of diabetes risk if greater) and I am now back to 1:1 which is good.

I am not pleased with the results though as I wasn't true to myself for 3/4 of the month exercise wise and short changed myself results in the process. But you can't change the past you can only work on the "here and now" and I've been hitting the treadmill again so hopefully next month I'll see even better results!! I am down 2 pant sizes in my work pants and jeans, and wearing shirts a size smaller as well. Thankfully I kept all my smaller clothes from before so I am able to "shop in my closet" for new clothes to wear..lol.

I'll try to take a new picture tomorrow am and get it posted either in the afternoon tomorrow or Thursday am.

Hey 5 pounds is better than nothing and considered you did not follow the diet for 3/4 of the month that is not too bad. Can't wait to see new pics... Good job.

I agree with what everyone else has said!!! 5 lbs is WAY better than what I have been able to do for the last 4 months!! I would take the 5 lbs and run!!! This is about what I did after my 3rd mo into it too!!! And I basically just watched what I ate, eventhough I ate what I wanted, and exercised!!!

You will do AWESOME this month though, knowing now that you have to step it up a notch!!!

Can't wait to hear next months results!!!

Hey don't beat yourself up. Changing life-long habits isn't easy. 5 pounds is really good, I went through a plateau of almost 6 weeks and would have LOVED a 5 pound drop during that time.

Not only did you lose the 5 pounds, but you're no longer at a higher risk for diabetes. That is a MAJOR accomplishment

Mark! You've done a great job. Plenty of people have those times when they don't work as hard. The most important part is your are still working on it. You still had losses! What is 3/4 of a month when you have probably added years of better health? You are fabulous. Rejoice!!

It's always so nice to get your reports! You've done an excellent job, I'm sure all of us here share in your excitement. It's also just nice that there are actually men in these forums Keep up all your hard work. I'm sure you WILL see better results next month. At least you admit where you went wrong and are motivated to change it. Honestly though, losing 5 pounds in a month is still nothing to sneeze at and 39 pounds total is fantastic!!!!

Mark, congrats dude! Five pounds is five pounds right? lol I didn't know about the 1:1 thing. I do know that adipose or belly fat is real bad for diabetes inclined people (me too). The big "D" is why I am here myself. I am going to work harder at this too, in the next three months. You have a good mindset though and know what to do. Congrats on the almost forty pounds off!

So glad to hear that your doc gave you good news! You are healthier today than you were three months ago and that's really the most important part. Of course, 39 pounds is an added bonus! You have made remarkable progress ... don't forget that. And you know what you need to do next month to keep on track. Congratulations! 39 pounds is FABULOUS!!

Thank you all for the kind words. I am happy with the 5lbs lost believe me...it is just that I know it could have been even better.

I just heard back from the Dr's office with my lab results and they look great thankfully. My cholesterol has gone from 195 to 150 and my LDL is down to 95 so I've corrected that issue. My HDL is still low at 28 but improving and will continue to improve as I exercise and continue to eat healthy. My tryglycerides were off the chart last time and this time they are below the 150 threshold at 137 so as of now the diabeties concerns have been put to rest thankfully.

I took new pics this morning (not sure they'll show too much..lol) even wore what I wore the month before (well the pants are smaller but the shirt is the same one)so hopefully I'll get them up late this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

Thanks again for the support I truly appreciate it! And I must admit it makes me feel good to hear that I even help motivate a few the hubby's behind the scene...God knows if I can do this so can't they!!
