Thread: Lipodrene w/ephedra-great results

I lost 25 pounds a few months ago while on Phen. I've since started gaining some back (my own fault-stopped exercising and caring what I ate).

So anyway, I decided to try something else to help me. The lipodrene w/ephedra has been great. I've lost 7 pounds in a short amount of time without doing anything different. By that I mean that I'm not exercising. The pills do lower my appetite, so I'm sure I'm eating less but I'm not purposely trying to diet or anything and I'm still allowing myself goodies so I don't feel I'm missing out. But for me, it seems to be working some magic all by itself.

Since I don't want to take these forever, obviously, I have to start getting back into an exercise routine so I don't gain it all back as soon as I quit the pills. But losing some weight without trying much has been great motivation to get me started on a healthier path again.

I've been trying to find articles on the safety/dangers of ephedra, though. I'm curious how long is "safe" to take it, etc. There are so many conflicting reports and opinions out there. One report I read said that the only adverse reactions reported were from people who took at least 150 mg/day (no more than 100mg is suggested). I currently take 50 mg/day and don't plan on increasing that amount, but still would love to read more on the topic.

So does anyone know of any articles out there that may be of interest to myself as well as anyone wanting to read up on ephedra? Thanks in advance!

Hmm I was just wondering, what pill do you think works better?? Does one give you more energy than the other? I have about 15-20 to lose and I'm debating between these two pills. Thanks!

I too was taking a product that contained ephedra, and boy did it help me with my weight loss. I went from 162 lbs to 127 lbs in under 2 months with very minimal exercising. I was very angry when ephedra was banned and my product was taken off the market. I believe that if you follow the dosage and dont over do it, ephedra is great used only on a short term basis. Has the ban on ephedra been lifted that I dont know about?

Ok, here's a few little bits of information.

First of all, the ephedra is on a temporary hiatus while more crap gets debated in the court system, so you CAN buy it.
Next, Ephedrine always HAS been legal which is the pharmaseutical version of Ephedra (note the different spellings). Ephedra is derived from a plant, and is a slightly different alkoloid, but is pretty much the same thing.

If you're taking 50mg a day, i would NOT reccomend taking more at the moment, if you're going to do anything perhaps take 75 mg split up 3 times per day, but DO NOT EXCEED THAT
depending on your body weight, if you take more than 100mg and arent a 200+ pound bodybuilder then you're at risk for stroke. Which is the entire basis for the ban, people taking too much for their body.

I've taken ephedra, and ephedrine in one form or another for about 7 years now, and often i've gone months taking ephedrine with no ill effects, but i usually take no more than 50mg a day, and im a 250 pound male bodybuilder.

In leiu of taking more ephedra or ephedrine, you can buy the stuff like lipodrine, or even just ephedrine pills, but if you go for something like that, you might want to include some asprin and caffeine to help you out.

The lipodrine already has it built in, as well as some hoodia extract for appetite surpressant. If you have any exsiting heart problems i would NOT suggest taking ephedrine as it DOES speed your heart up. It also causes anxiety attacks in some people. Also like with a lot of other drugs your body will eventually build up a tolerance to it, and leave you with diminished results. I would suggest taking it in cycles such as 2 months on, 2 months off and see how that works.

You can also take something called a beta receptor cleaner commonly known as Ketoifen (the spelling might be slightly off) which will prevent this tolerance from occouring.

All in all ephedrine and ephedra can be a powerfull weight loss tool, but do not take it lightly, it's the people that didnt heed warnings that were the cause for the ban, and i don't want it taken away again.

For those of you who dont want to take ephedrine, but want something a little safer, you can try something called Yohimbine. It's an extract that gives a very similar benefit like ephedrine. The ONE side effect of yohimbine though (this really isnt an issue if you're a female) is that it will cause you to have a very large occourance of erections throughout the day. The drug was originally designed as a libido enhancer, and although it does that too, it's also great for weight loss and energy supplementation.

If anyone has any additional questions, i've taken pretty much every weight loss drug on the market (and even some still in trial phases) with mixed results, so feel free to ask away.

I bought the pure ephedra or ephedrine pills taking 25 mg/day. It gave me really bad jitters and made my heart race way too much so I stopped taking it. That's not what I want to be feeling, felt as though my heart was skipping beats and scared me a tad.

Yeah ephedrine can cause a lot of people to feel like crap, Hand tremors, general anxiety, racing heart. It effects people differently. But one thing you have to keep in mind is that ephedrine's entire purpose, and the reason for it's efficacy' is that it speeds up your metabolism by speeding up your heartrate. That's plain and simple what it does. If you're prone to palpitations or irregular heartbeat this will just exacerbate the problem. This is why people with any heart troubles should not take ephedrine.

The Ephedrine HCL variety is legal in the US to be sold as a Bronchilator which basically means you use it to treat forms of asthmah, it does this by speeding up the heart and bloodflow to the inflamed respitory tissues that are the cause of asthma. The benefit of something like ephedrine over an albuterol inhaler is that albuterol is inhaled and pretty much works it's way out of your system in 30 mins, while ephedrine sticks around for about 8 hours. Albuterol also has a punk cousin who has piercings and tattoos, his name is "Clenbuterol" which has a life of 36 hours in the body, but causes hand tremors, sleeplessness, and anxiety problems.

i WILL say that if you take ephedrine the heart racing, and palpitations USUALLY dissapear after 3-4 days of taking it, but that may not be the case for everyone. We all have a different tolerance of the pill.

Also just as a side note, a while back im pretty sure i read an article that stated that when you buy ephedrA which is derived from plants, that you're not neccesarily getting the exact 25mg of the ephedrine alkoloid that is stated on the bottle, i've read it can be as low as 15mg, or as high as 35. This could be a cause of some people getting jitters from taking ephedra, dosing more than they think they're getting. Ephedrine HCL however is regulated by the FDA as a drug and as such, has EXACTLY the 25 mg of the alkoloid per pill. Just something to keep in mind.

One more quick thing, before you take ephedrine, i highly suggest trying out yohimbine, it's safer and a LOT cheaper. I go to my local vitamin store and i can get 100 yohimbine pills for about $10. It never hurts to give it a shot!
