    Default Starting Again

    Hello all! I joined this site 8 years ago when I was in college. I lost about 60 lbs then. I had hoped that I wouldn't have a reason to come back but the weight returned with friends! This community really helped me to stay positive and focused back then and I'm hoping it will again! My weight has increased primarily because of hypothyroidism. I tried unsuccessfully to lose the weight but have only gained more. I've been living in South Korea for almost 5 years and the work culture here has put a lot of strain on my body. My fiancé and I are getting married in Korea in 2 months and then moving to the US and having another wedding there in May. I'll start graduate school soon after. This is my window to begin to get my weight back under control. I know it will be harder the longer I wait. I finally started on Adipex + Topiramate 2 days ago.

    As it is, I don't eat too much and I try to eat healthy food. I can't do any load bearing exercises because I have heel spurs. I am trying to cycle and do resistance training as often as I can. I'm not expecting a miracle but I would like to lose around 30 lbs over the next 3 months before our US wedding. I'm at a horrifying 288lbs right now. I maintained 260 for about 4 years but since meeting my fiancé, my weight has increased. I want to be healthy and enjoy being young instead of avoiding things because of my weight. My fiancé is very fit and active, and I want to do things with him that I'm uncomfortable with now (hiking, swimming, etc). I also worry about my fertility if I can't lose this weight. Anyway, long story short - back again, hope this time it sticks! Looking forward to reading about your triumphs and journeys!

    I am going to be restarting soon as well. I am looking forward to getting on with my losses. I had some side effects last time that I was not prepared for.
    I have gained a lot of my weight back due to stress and not eating right because of the stress. Really frustrating, but I am determined to get this weight off and be successful.
    With your heel spurs I would think that swimming would be an excellent exercise. I know you said you are uncomfortable doing this with your fiancé, but it would be a good idea for you.
    What about yoga?
    are you following a special diet?

    I am trying to do more veggies and also higher protein to fill me up with shakes and smoothies that are healthy.
