    I think its up to two weeks, I'm not 100% sure but this is the time you have to wait between taking phen and MAO inhibitors/some other appetite suppressants and I'm thinking the reason is to make sure that the first drug is completely out of your system before you try the next....as I say...not 100% sure though

    This is what I found on a drug reference site:

    Phentermine has an adult half-life of between 7 and 20 hours, and peaks in the bloodstream 8 hours following administration.

    Assuming a seven hour half-life, over 90% of the medication would theoretically be cleared from your system in 28 hours.

    Assuming a 20 hour half-life, it would take approximately 80 hours for most to clear.

    It will not affect anything for life insurance. I wouldn't worry about it. Depending on your age, they usually only test for aids/smoking. Smoking will be a saliva test. Phen won't come up positive for amph. on confirmation (only the initial screening test.)

    I used to hire for a large manu. company and I've extensively researched drug tests. My husband also works in claims for a large insurance company and he confirmed this.
