I am on the frustrated bus this morning. I know we all go there, but GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! When it's your turn is stin ks! I started increasing my workout (it was almost non-existent for awhile) about a month ago. I do cardio and strength training at least 5 times a week. Problem is, scale hasn't MOVED and my clothes seem to fit the same. I "feel" a little firmer in my own body, but I can't see anything yet. Any suggestions?!?!?

Just keep on truckin'! Usually people at your weight with not much to lose, exercise and eat right for quite a while before any results. But once you start getting results it will come off easy. I knew a girl that exer and ate right for 4-5 months before any results but you should see her now!

Cardio 5 days a week is a good idea. You may want to be careful about strength training that often though. If you're firming you're adding muscle but if you strength train more than every other day you could bulk up.

I talked to a guy yesterday at the YMCA who was doing a training session on metabolism and fat loss and he said I was working way too hard. I almost choked. He said to loose the optimal amount of weight/fat, you should work longer, not harder. I was pushing myself to nausea every day working as hard as I could and trying to do more the next day. I don't know if he is right, but I am going to try pulling down on intensity and doubling my time.
Oh, my mom just reminded me that the fitness guru on Oprah said the same thing.

Worth a shot.
