Hi, I have decided to stop taking phen. I have been on it since Dec. 1st and it isn't giving me the same benefits as it used to do. I am going to slowly ween myself off of it. I have lost over 20 pounds, but the bottom line is that I need to stay focused and exercise, because this weight isn't going to lose itself. I thought about looking into other medications, but I think I am going to just try it on my own.

Hey Meg, I'm from Iowa TOO!!!!

How many Calories are you eating a day.. ( be honest )
What kinds of calories are you eating?
If you are losing 1 lb a week, that's great... any more than that, your weight has a higher chance of coming back. Don't give up eating right or exercising... Phen is really only suppose to work for 1 month ( so my doctor says ) but... some seem to benefit longer for some reason. Go off for a month and then go back on.. Don't throw them away or anything.

I'm glad to meet another Ioweeegan!,,,
I live up near Dubuque.
Start weight, 162... current weight, 148. GOAL WEIGHT, 130... I'LL SETTLE FOR 135

that is actually wise. People should not be taking phen for 6-12 months like some are. It is only supposed to short term, to get people time to change their habits.

Rather than other medications, the exercise makes sense, and trying to eat low cal, filling foods. Besidew, eating right lasts longer
Weightloss success depends on changing eating habits (most regain the weight if we return to our previous lifestyle). Eat like the food pyramid. Lots of dark/colorful veggies & fruits; lean proteins (chicken, skim milk, fish); modest amounts of seeds/nuts & whole grains; start walking and do some resistance exercises to build muscle. Good luck!

Hello,
I am getting concerned, In every post somewhere I see "if you take off weight too fast then it is more likely to come back". I am scared now because I have been taking Phen for 10 days now. I have already lost 10 pounds. I thought it was a miracle drug!!! Is there anything I can do to make sure I keep it off. I am 5'2 and I started out weighing 143, now I weigh 133. I want to loose at least 10 more pounds, but prefer to loose 15 more. I think I may have droped so much because when I first started taking it and even now, I could not eat ANYTHING. I am just now starting to eat again. You know what is funny, even though I have lost 10 pounds I cant tell it at all. My family and my husband can. I am sortof scared to weigh myself this week. I am by no means way overwieght, but I wanted to get to normal weight so I can start toning up for the summer. But I am scared the weight is comming off too fast!

Mcrow... The weight you lost really fast was probably water weight. I lost like 7 lbs in a week at first.. then it slowed down. Fat is much harder to lose than water...
Don't worry, when your weight loss slows down, you will know you will be losing fat instead of water. Also, Drink like 70 oz of water a day.. this helps a great big deal... It did for me. I gained a bit of water back during period time but lost it right after... it freaked me out at first but it was just water....
Eat 1200 - 1400 cals a day, stay away from refined sugars and bleached pastas and bread and such... Lost of veggies and fruit and water. I eat a lot of turkey, chicken, tuna. I've lost 14 lbs since feb 3rd.... I'm doing good I think and so are you..
Start weight, 162... current weight, 148. GOAL WEIGHT, 130... I'LL SETTLE FOR 135

That was suppose to be.. LOTS of veggies. Also, did you know that insoluble fiber retains water, and soluble water helps to lose it?
