Welbutrin & Phentermine

I know I asked this once before a long time ago, but was curious about giving Welbutrin a try once again. Has anyone tried both Welbutrin and Phentermine? If so, what's your experience been?

Hi Jonathan. I take both 150mg of Wellbutrin XL and 37.5 phen , both are doctor prescribed. So far so good!!!! But everyone is different so make sure you and your doctor both agree to your doing it.. Good luck !!

I also take Welbutrin (300) and Phentermine (37.5). I also was also taking both of them when I was on Phen about a 1 1/2 yrs. ago. I have never had any issues. I noticed the first time on Phen (and Welbutrin), I noticed more anxiety and nervousness, but I think that was the side effect of the Phen, not both of them combined. It is prescribed by my doctor and she told me when I first went on them, that Welbutrin works well with Phen. This time I'm not feeling any side effects at all, probably b/c this is the 2nd time I'm taking it.

I agree with rickswife, you should defintly check with your doctor first b/c they know your health history, etc.

I am glad to see these posts. I have recently started Wellbutrin XL. I have taken Phen in the past with good results(after baby 2--before baby 3) and have an ** for some now, but was hesitant to mix them.
It's good to see that others are taking them together with good results.

My GYN nurse prescribed Wellbutrin due to some depression I am experiencing. She told me I could NOT take the Phen at the same time but my PCP says it's okay. I wonder why she would say no but my regular doc said yes ?!?!?!

Probibly becuase some antidepressents cant be taken with phen. but welburtin is safe to take with it.

I take 300 Wellbutrin XL everyday with my Phen 37.5. In fact I take them together at the same time. I do not think the Wellbutrin does anything to boost the phen but I have been on it for 3 years and phen only a month or so.

Minnie, I bet your Gyn nurse is against Phen all together. Not just if you are on Wellbutrin.

I take Prozac along with phen, and they work well together. I know one of the antidepressants that is a definate no-no with phen is paxil. Wellbutrin is a great drug. I hope it works well for you.

Well now at least I know it's okay to take both at the same time !
