Anyone else get so frustrated with Lane Bryant! I can't believe how expensive their clothes are? To make matters worse, I wear a BIGGER size there than I do in the department stores! What gives? I had a $15 dollar coupon last weekend, but you couldn't use it on sale items, jewelery, hosiery, or accessories. Pretty much they want you to buy a $50 item for $35. What a joke! I can't wait until I can quit shopping there. The problem is, they have a monopoly on the market because there just aren't a lot of places for plus sizes to shop! Not to mention they are one of the only places that has both plus size and talls! How infuriating!

I love lane bryant. I have the same coupon, haven't used it yet but I always get the ones that say that you spend 75 and get 25 off. so i spend 50 bucks on 75 worth of clothes.... and they let me use it on whatever I want!!! And several things are buy one get one half off.... But, I also buy my bras there because no one else in town carries big enough sizes and they are 25 each so i spend 75 no problem. But, I understand the fristration... I will let you know what happens when i go and try to use my 15 bucks.

    Hi Meg!

Yeah, that pretty much s@cks! I really can't stand when a company has a monopoly in a certain area. That really drives the prices up, you're right (I guess I did pay a little attention in econ. class )!

I haven't bought retail for years (at least 7). Shopping retail was making me broke.

For seven+ years, I have only shoped at consignment, thrift stores and a little on ebay. I always found FANTASTIC plus size clothes. Now that I am a size 12, I even have more of a selection. If you haven't tried to shop that way in the past, I highly recommend it.

I like to get things at Lane Bryant once in awhile, depending on what they have and the prices, but I get most of my things at Old Navy, well, especially jeans. Old Navy has always gone up to a size 20, but they now go up to I believe size 26, as well as 3x. Not to mention that for me they have always been the perfect fit no matter what size I have been. I had gotten a bunch of shirts on clearance for like $1.99 each, pairs of jeans for $20 and $14, etc!

Yeah, some stuff is really young, and then they come up with stuff that looks absolutely ridiculously on a plus size person. I don't get it. Plus, I think a lot of the things are poor quality.

Just so you know I've weighed myself in all my clothes before going to the doctors office. Lane Bryant's jeans weigh the most. Probably 40 pounds or so, give or take 35.

Hey ya'll I shop at Lane Bryant too- I really love their bras and panties! I agree that some of their stuff is just blah and some of it is cute. The key is to shop often b/c their stores change like every two weeks. I sometimes walk around there for an hour and only get a top or a bra, and other days I was around there for two hours and try on tons of stuff. If anyone ever needs or wants a coupon, I get those 25 off a 75 purchase up to 75 off 225... I can email them and all you need to do is print them out or buy online.

Also, Old navy offers up to a 26 on their website. I like their stuff most of the time. And the quality isnt that bad. There's also this place called Avenue- its not one of my favorites, but they have staple items that are alright. The one here is a bit icky though. Also fashion bug has stuff online in plus sizes and CATOs has stores all over with plus sizes- again some of the stuff is nasty looking and some of it looks great.
    Hope this helps!

There is one good thing about Lane Bryant... their clothes have *EXCELLENT* resale value on Ebay! I sold a TON of my old LB clothes on Ebay and on some items, I think I got as much, if not more than I originally paid... so just take comfort in knowing that when those clothes "outgrow" you... you can make a good bit of your money back!
