    Post

    Hi all !!!
I am sure some of you have seen one of my posts where i complain that my scale won't budge, and hasn't forever now...... I started taking the phen again in June and seriously my weight has not really budged..... I am about 135 now, I was maybe at the highest 142 on a bloated day back in June.
I have been eating right, very healthy approx 1200 calories a day. I also have been walking/jogging every morning for about 45 minutes or more , partially up hill. Sometimes I also take a brisk walk as well at night with my hubby for about 30 minutes. I have also been working with free weights, doing squats, and workout tapes 4 times a week.
Well even though my weight has not changed, my body really has.... I can see muscle definition, my arms, legs, abs tightening up, etc. I really noticed it when I sat down in the shower the other day to shave and it wasn't so comfy and padded as before. My butt bone was hitting the ground, kinda uncomfortable!!! LOL Also, when I do my oblique excersise, my hip bone kinda hits the floot, unlike before it was so padded.... all new to me, but really cool! My thighs are actually feeling kinda hard.
And then, I went to the mall and comfortabley fit into a pair of size 6 jeans !!!
So even though the scale hasn't changed I have definitley lost fat and replaced it with muscle. And that is why I think people like me who do not have much to lose should stop driving themselves crazy with the scale as I did for so long. As a matter of fact, I barely weight myself now, beciase it is pointless, if I went off the scale I would be just get frustrated. You have to go by how your body looks, and how you feel. I say all you ladies who have been struggling to lose the last 10 or 20 but you are doing everything right, to get rid of the scale !!!! It can seriouly sabotage your efforts, which almost happened to me.... Until I decided to tell the scale to piss off !!!!
Also don't get hung up on a goal weight !!! Make your goal to be as fit as possible, to change your lifestyle to a healthy one that you enjoy and can do forever (without phen)
I have also cut back on the phen, only take it every other day now, and plan to wean myself by Sep 9th (when I leave to Kauaii) I now feel confident that with my new habits and love for excersise that I will have no prob maintaining and continuing to get more fit and in shape. Its great, I got my hubby on the band wagon too.... he has been working out too... we made our own home gym. He looks great !!! His body has changed so much, he is getting hunkier every day !! LOL
I remember when people used ot tell me when I was upset over not losing weight "its becuase you are building muscle" and I always thought that was a bunch of crap , they were just trying to make me feel better..... but you know what, it is true. We have just been so brain washed that we have to see a number change on the scale.
    Good luck all !!!!

Good for you!! Having a positive outlook really does make a difference. Thanks for sharing your experience.

The day I can slip back into a size 6 comfortably I won't give a darn what the scale says either! LOL

Just a thought. Maybe your body needs more calories? You are doing great with everything and you are very active. I dont think it would hurt to add a couple hundred more cals to your daily total. The only plateau I had lasted two weeks and I just rode right on through it. I wish I could get my hubby interested in working out like you have, mine is just interested in watching me, lol. Im sorry I couldnt be more helpful.-nat

Beena, there must be some serious pressure in CA to be supermodel thin!! Your current stats are pretty amazing! A size 6?! I don't think I wore a size 6 even when I was 6!! You're hitting all the marks with the exercise and toning, keep it going! I love seeing my firmer body parts. My husband loves catching me admiring my hard thigh muscle, or flexing my biceps or calves when I think no one is watching!!

You look so great! Ofcourse you know (but I'll say it any way) muscle weighs more than fat. So you could be just one solid mama. A size 6 I'll never see but it seems to be a good size for you at 5' 3" (I'm 5' 10")

The scale has been driving me crazy too. I have had 10lbs left to lose for the longest time. But my measurements are dropping, my hips at the widest point measured 96cm (started at 110cm) this morning, so i need to learn to ignore the scale too. Its very difficult though.

Beena - sounds like your body has found a weight that it likes and you look great! You're making all the right choices - exercising, eating healthy, etc and you're not gaining...you're at the perfect size; 6 - forget the scale!

I know you are right and I should remember that when I want those last 14 numbers subtracted from my scale number. When I can fit into a 6, I will be thrilled. I can **** my way into a size 8-10 and at 5'2.5" (OK I'll round up to 5'3" LOL) that is still too big looking for me. Good job! I'm sure I just need to tone and build muscle because my scale says 122 but I still look fat.

Yeah, I am not saying I am where I want to be just yet. I am still slightly chubby here and there.... but I noticed that the pants that were slightly tight on me last year when I was 128 are actually loose on me now but I weigh 7 pounds more.... but last year, I was literally starving and not doing enought excersise. Now I am eating more and doing tons of weights, and cardio. So if you are working out and weight training, you might be able to get away with weighing a lot more than you think......

I totally agree with you Beena. When I do aerobics and weights, I look at least 20 pounds leaner. Keep up the great job girl. Size 6 is great. And props to you and hubby on that home gym. When you exercise together, makes for a happier home

    Keep it going girl.

Thanks missus..... I think i also just feel better.. knowing that I am really taking care of my health, and not obsessing over the vanity thing. It feels good to let that go and find some acceptance. Once you do that, I think the rest will fall into place
