I want to thank you for letting me be a part of this wanderful group. You have helped me out a lot and for that I am greatful. I am now at 197 and I will use the wisdom I have learned here to continue to lose. I am, however, leaving and wish you all the best in the world. I have seen some attacks on different posts that are unsettling to me and, I am sure, to those who posted. Everyone has done one thing or another in their life that would shock or anger one if not all of us. That's just human nature. People come here for support, acceptance and understanding. When I find myself wanting to attack an attacker, well, that is time for me to say auf wiedersehen, vaya con dios and plain old goodbye. May God be with you all and may all of your wishes come true.

it's a shame you feel you have to leave because of people voicing opinions about a VERY touchy subject. i personally wanted to rip and tear when i saw the number of lame excuses on that post, but i shall refrain. but i think everyone was very restrained-believe me, if you think she was being attacked, you should have been here in the "old" days!

goes back to the basic premise of human nature-if you post it here, you ain't always gonna get what you want to hear. if you want that, keep it to yourself and a few close friends.

I don't think anyone really meant her any harm. It is just a really touchy subject I would think especially for anyone that is a mom. I am sure she would feel different about it if she had been a victim of someones DUI and lost a family member, or had one get really hurt. You have to remember we are all human, and we are all passionate beings, and when we type that passion comes out more than if we were verbally expressing ourselves. Sometimes things seem harsher than what people mean them to be. I would hope this one incident didn't turn you away from your support, or turn her away. That subject was especially hard for me (you can read my post on the thread) and it took me a lot to try not to sound like I was condeming her and to just try to post a general "this is what happened in my family" warning to everyone reading. It was hard to not lash out, sometimes people cannot control that and they do it without really meaning to be malicious. Sorry you feel the way you feel about it. Hope you stick around. There aren't too many people here like myself that are new and its hard to get into the clique so its nice to have other new people around.

I haven't been on in a few days and after reading all the post I am sorry to see you leave. I don't think anyone had any intensions on hurting your feelings and just offered their opinions on the topic. This is a very touchy topic and I know you are upset/sad with your husbands actions however him being a responsible father should not get behind a wheel of a vehicle when he has had a few drinks no matter how many few times it might be or if it is just around the block. He is lucky he didn't hurt someone or himself. Be thankful this is all that happened and that he is still around to be a father to your children and a loving husband to you. Sorry to see you go. I wish you the best of luck.

If that is what is making you leave, you need to get thicker skin because there will ALWAYS be things or people in the world that make you angry. You have to roll with the punches and ignore that which you do not like.

I like knowing that when I post here asking for advice I'm going to get the truth. If I dont think I can handle it.. I won't ask this group. They dont cover up what they feel with flowery language so that feelings aren't hurt.

I'm offended that you used the word "attacker". No one was attacking anyone. The thread was about a very serious subject. The wonderful thing about boards like these is that everyone gets to share their opinion. If someone does not want others opinions then they should not post on the subject.

It's too bad you're going to leave over this. It's not hard to find support here and make some friends that can help you on the way. Drunk driving is a touchy subject and you can't expect people to cover up their feelings about that. Any time a contreversial topic is discussed you're going to see some strong opinions, it's just human nature. Maybe you should stick around and just avoid those topics that might upset you.

Why do you feel the need to say goodbye? The drama and excitement happens spontaneously, while everyone has a variety of veiwpoints. I doubt if negative energy has been directed at anyone personally. I suppose it helps if you have a sense of humor... This is simply a forum where one can freely express their feelings.

Variety is the spice of life, and this forum gets hot and spicey from time to time. It's like the weather; sunny, stormy, tropical, cold, hot, etc.
If you don't like the rain, use your umbrella.

It's sad that you feel offended by comments you've encountered. Phen.com is a place designed to help keep us going with the diet dilemma. My only problem with this ********* is that I spend too much time here once I get on the threads. I have to schedule time and then tear myself away.
