Hi! I'm not from NC, but my parents, sister and brother live there. They are in Kings mountain, gastonia area. My dad is from Bryson city, born an raised there (smokey mountains). I love it there, beautiful, fresh air. Anyway, just wanted to say Hi.

actually I gained some since then, but too darn lazy to check the scales. I am gonna start phen here again after being off for a couple months. I'm waiting for them, hopefully be here before the weekend. I'm probably 130 -131, so add a couple more pounds to that 2 lbs. Thank you though, after my third child 2 1/2 years ago I gained a good bit of weight. I started the phen when she was about 6 months old and lost the weigh. She is my third after a 15 year gap. I have a 19 year old, 17 year old and my 2 1/2 yr old.

Well hoped to talked to ya again, and good luck also with your weight loss. This board is great for support.

Hi Gingie, I am in Jacksonville, NC. It is on the eastern coast, home of Camp Lejeune! I am originally from eastern Tennessee, near Knoxville! But moved out here with my hubby about 4 years ago! It's great to see some other people from NC in here.

I am in Fayetteville, been living here about 14 yrs. No I am not affiliated with the military. Tomorrow is my 1 week weigh in on phen, and I am alternately nervous and excited.

Michelle - my children are 8 1/2 years apart, 13 1/2 & 5 years old! I gained weight with both my children!

Wantingtolose - My husband is originally from Knoxville, but moved here back in 1980. His parents and grandparents are still there. It's nice to meet you!

Bookwerm - Good luck with the Phen! I've had good results so far. I've lost 12 pounds. I posted earlier on your cruising forum...I think it was yours? Nice to meet you too!!

I'm from Statesville, NC but moved to Florida three years ago. I still have family there and go back as often as I can, I miss it. I'm not on Phen at the moment taking other meds and doc want let me take them. Good luck.

Oh, forgot to ask...any of you ever heard of Dr. Girouard? He has two Weight Loss and Wellness clinics (one in Huntersville, one in Statesville)...that's where I got my Phentermine. I'm also getting shots of HCG there. Just wondering if anyone else has tried it...

Hey Lizard, small world! My first appt was Oct 27. I just gave myself my first at-home shot of the HCG last night. I've already lost about 6 lbs. I cant tell if the shot is working or if the weight loss is all from the phentermine making me not want to eat. What about you?

I go to the Weight Loss & Wellness Clinic run by Dr. Michael Girouard. He has offices in Statesville and Huntersville. The website is www.letsgetthin.com. You go and talk with a NP, get your blood pressure checked, and then they give you the Phentermine. You can also get a shot of HCG. HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, it's a hormone (found naturally in pregnant women) that has been found to promote increased fat loss, decreased appetite, and cause a greater loss of inches. You can take the shot once a week, and you can get shots from the clinic to take home and give yourself. I heard about it from my cousin--she lost 17 lbs in her first month. I'm only on my second week of Phen (and have had 2 shots) and I've lost 7 lbs without excercising. Another website to check out is http://hcgobesity.org...look at the before and after photographs.

Nope, they don't take insurance at the clinic. The initial visit, 30 ct bottle of phen, and the first HCG shot cost me $170. You can buy additional shots to take home and give yourself (scary, I know!) for $10 a pop. You take them once a week and I bought enough for 6 weeks. What's your friend think of it so far?
