Acomplia is supposed to work by blocking the CB1 endocannabinoid receptors in the brain. These are the same receptors that are stimulated when someone smokes weed that gives them the munchies. So it's like reverse-pot. It doesn't do anything to stimulate metabolism. Personally, I don't think I would bother trying it. There's never been a study done that says obese people have over-active CB1, all it does is take away the pleasure people get from eating or possibly smoking(cigarettes) as well, but I guess everyone is different and responds to different things, for example, I've taken Meridia and it didn't do anything for me but make me retain water!
