    Question

I'm wondering if taking phen is what making my face break out. Its not like pimples, but more like dry patches. Any one else having this problem and if you are what do you do to help clear it up? I never had problems with breakout and I'm 39. Why now? I need advice from someone.

    Thanks
    Michelle

Yup, I am having the same problem, though I already had some acne before I started phen. I have also read others post about having this problem with phen too. I have been using my prescription retin-a more often, and olay regenerist serum. The olay is marketed for wrinkles, but is seems to smooth out my...erm, "lumpy" skin, and moisturizes without being greasy.
    Good luck

    Lisa,

I dont have a prescription retin-a, but do you think if I buy some olay regenerist serum that might help? I have been putting my regular face cream on and it seems like it helps a tiny bit but as soon as I wash my face it just gets a tight feeling. I feel all the little dry itchy bumps on my face then, I just want to get a face scrub and try to make it more smoother. I dont want to irritate my face though.

yup - don't mess with it to much though - i've never had acne so I really messed my face up. It is getting better though.

I think the regenerist would be worth a try, or some of the neutrogena acne products...I have also had success with those.
Also, if you have some areas that are itchy and irritated you could try putting some 1% hydrocortisone cream or lotion on them once a day for a few days. I had talked to my dermatologist about the hydrocortisone and she said its fine to use on your face as long as you don't use it long term. (If you were to use them consistently for a period of months-years it could eventually cause your skin to thin) Of course just don't around the eye area.
    Hope this helps
