Hi, I just discovered this sight.... I've been on adipex since October but in January started to slow down on them. I'm probably hooked on them but the reason I'm trying to get off of the pills is because everyone around me has said that my whole personality has changed since Oct. I was wondering if anyone else has had mood swings? I find that the smallest thing will bother me. I never had a temper and seem to lose my temper all the time now. My fiance and I called our wedding off because we were always arguing and we never did that before. We've been together for over six yrs. So I'm wondering if it is the pills doing this to me or something else. Anyone else have this problem????

Yeah I have mood swings but only around pms.. So this week is not going so well.. I'm yelling at everybody, have these knock-down dragout fights with my mom. I threw a bottle of ketchup earlier. I've been known to have a temper all my life. It's just worse with the phen. You're not alone! Have you tried cutting the dosage?

No, I haven't cut the dosage, just don't take them every day anymore. But the days that I do, I can tell. Almost like pmsing everyday! I mentioned it to the doctor but she didn't seem too worried. I am almost afraid to stop taking them (I'll put weight back on). It was such a nice feeling of actually buying clothes in the junior section!

Well it is a common fear that when you stop taking the meds that you'll gain the weight back. A lot of people have trouble keeping the weight off, but if you know this already, then you can take control instead of letting the weight slip back on. I know this is not very comforting, but we will all have to deal with it just know that you're not alone. Good luck!

Same thing has happened to me, but it is to my benefit. I say no to alot more people that want me to volunteer my time. I don't fricken want to help them is my attitude, so I say no. But in the beginning my poor kids would get the rath from me, but I have learned how to control that. I do however feel my temper fusing when normally it wouldn't, I just have to really focus on the fact that it is the Phen doing it to me.

Personally it is a side effect I am able to live with. But if it were to start effecting my relationships with family and friends, then it might be a little different

SAME HERE, I FEEL GET VERY VERY IRRITABLE AT TIMES AND HATEFULL I HAVE AWAYS BEEN A LITTLE ON THE HATEFULL SIDE I GET THAT FROM MY MOM BUT I DO SEE MYSELFGETTING ANGERY AND IRRITATAED VEY EASY I HATE TO FEEL THAT WAY. IT NORMALLY STARTS IN THE EVENING THOUGH WHY IS THAT DOES ANYONEELSE HAVE THIS EFFECT?

yes sadie.....I quit taking Phen all together because I almost lost my relationship over it! I have never acted the way I did on those pills. I wanted to rip my bf's head off every time I saw him...and it was for no reason. He doesn't get mad at ANYONE. He's the sweetest thing on earth and I have no idea why he put up with my stupid comments. If any of you have mood swings like I did, get off the pills. It just isnt' worth it!! I am so mad at myself that I didnt see it. I couldn't understnad why all my life I was an extremely helpful and kind person and them, BAM, take these pills for a few months and feel like killing everyone I was in contact with. I'll never do it again!

I have had severe mood swings when taking the 30mg blue caps. They are still present, but not as often with the 30mg yellow.

A small price for the family to pay for a happier slimmer, healthier, more energetic mom and wife.

I have mood swings but no better or worse then I did before I started Phen. If anything, I feel a bit happier now that I'm finally losing weight! This improves my mood most days immensly!!

I have gone crazy!!! My mood swings are so irratic during my TOM that I am scared of myself. I have appologized to my boyfriend so many times it's rediculous, yesterday I got mad that he did not want to give his grandmother the same card I did...then I started to cry....then I appologized..I am a basketcase.

My boyfriend & i never really fought that much.. But, the last couple of days have been really bad .. & now that I have read this forum.. I can relate to it... But, I don't want to stop the pills. But, to save my relationship I think it's the right choice....
