Hey everyone, I have a serious, disgusting, and rather disturbing question. Has anyone ever gotten a discoloration in their urine due to using Phentermine? Just yesterday, after being on the pill for 15 days, I had blood in my urine, and I didn't know if anyone else may have experienced the same thing. I'm not talking a drop or something, I'm talking a stream that looked like cranberry juice. No clots, nothing on my panties, just when I peed, it was dark red/brownish. It's not my period, because I had my period 18 days ago, and I'm regular. I'm not pregnant either, so that's why I'm concerned about the pills possibly causing this. It's Saturday, and I can't see my doctor till Monday, so I wanted to come on here and ask if anyone has experienced something similar to my situation. Maybe it's give me a little piece of mind if I'm not alone. Anyone, please respond to this if you've been through something similar. Thanks very much

Even though it's not your period, it could be spotting. When blood is brownish, it means it is old blood, not fresh red blood. Many times with vaginal spotting, it is brown in color, and many times only appears when urinating, and wiping. I would not worry yet, keep an eye on it. Any urinary symptoms such as burning, frequency, urge to urinate frequently? Are you on the pill? Did you miss one or take one late? I worked in GYN for 7 yrs, so I have answered a lot of these questions. I hope all is okay.
Everyday is a beautiful day, make the most of it!!

It could be a urinary tract infection too. What Jen said though, I had lots of female problems for years and I would spot like that. Real heavy one day and change my urine color and the next it would be gone. Definitely go see your OBGYN for sure though. Don't worry, I don't think it is the Phen. Hope you get better.

Please don't wait to go to the doc. Last year I had to be hospitalized for a week for a kidney infection that turned in to septicemia...I had no symptoms except a little ache in my lower back. one night I woke up at 2am with a high fever and chills and when I went to the bathroom, there was blood in my urine. It was NOT a good experience. So...please go asap! Just in case.

Can you go to a walk-in-clinic. Blood in urine just doesnt sound good at all. I would go right away and check it out. I don't think it has anything to do with Phen, I've been on and off Phen for five years and I've never seen that.

Hey, yes, DEFINITELY go to the doctor! It could be a sign of a urinary tract or kidney infection. Also sometimes certain vitamins or pills can color your urine. I've never had the phen do it to me, but my multivitamin makes my pee bright green. Hope everything works out!

Never heard of that problem with Phen. but everyone has given pretty good advice about seeing a doctor. If it were a UTI you'd probably have other symptoms like burning and frequency, a kidney infection would cause back pain and likely a fever and chills. There are other kidney problems too that cause brown or bloody urine so get checked.

hey ssax it sounds like you have a urinary track infection,,,you can drink cranberry juice and it will clear it up. You also do not need to have every symptom that is normal to have one. I have had only the itching and by drinking cranberry jusice and washing after using the restroomm,,EVERY time, it cleared up on it's own. So now Idrink at least 1-2 glasses every day. Hope this helps But if it does not get better by all means for sure go to see your doc...

Hello everyone, I just finished reading all of your posts and I really appreciate all of the support. Thank you to everyone sooo so much for responding and lending me your knowledge and advice. I am drinking the cranberry juice, and I have occasional clotting in the urine now, but not as extreme as it was on the first day (Friday.) I will wait till tomorrow to see my doctor. I have an urge to pee frequently and I feel like I'm blocked when I try to, so my doctor said it sounds like UTI but before she prescribes me anything, she wants to test my urine. I have an appointment first thing Monday morning. I told her I was on Phen and she said exactly what you all said, that perhaps it may tint the urine, but it's probably not the causing factor of the infection I may have. She didn't tell me to discontinue using Phen, so I feel better knowing that everyone pretty much had the same answer for me. Thanks again so much to all of you who helped me out by giving me a little piece of mind. Good luck to everyone in their weight loss, and thanks again!
