Could it be possible for Phen not to work? I decided to weigh in today, being 5 days, ( I know I should wait till Monday, or 1 month), but Ive only lost 1.5 pounds. I thought people were supposed to lose more? I know everyone is different, but ick! Im afraid these pills arent going to work for me. Im eating well and working out. I have all the effects of phen, no appetite, drymouth, insomnia...i just took it (7:30am) and it hasn’t kicked in yet I don’t think cuz im a tad hungry...or it may be head hunger. I dunno. Im really worried. What do you guys think? Any clues? or am i just freaking myself out?

Phen works different for everyone. 1 and a half lb isnt bad for 5 days. You also may be losing inches. Try taking your measurements and go by those insted of the scale. It will work and you will see a difference just give it a little time. I cant remember what I lost my first week, but I do know the scale started making me angry when I didnt see results. So try putting the scale away for a while. Good Luck to you!

Hi Rheality

I'm thinking 1.5 lbs in 5 days is pretty damn great. I'm not sure what your expectations were, and I'm not trying to disregard you being upset, I know that feeling of wanting it all gone, NOW.

For me it's important to document what I'm eating, how much water I'm drinking and what sort of exercise I'm doing. That way I can see right in front of me why I lost more one week or less another.

YOu're gonna do it, it just takes time. Don't be down, it's 1.5 lbs gone, right?

I guess I expected to lose more. I have read so many stories where others have lost 3-5 pounds within the first week or more. I know, evryone is different. I guess ive just been so stuck at this weight for so long, that I just want the scale to move faster.

HI--

i agree- you have to give it time-- 1.5 is good for 5 days-- you'll prob be at 2 by 7days-- and thats is what is recommended--2lbs a week. I know how ya feel tho!! Try and stay off the scale (I know easier said than done!!)

i din't really lose BIG in the first week-- i averaged about 10 lbs a month-- so it took me awhile too! just keep exercising and eating healthy and it'll come off--

OH yeah-- are ya drinking LOTS of water????

I think that it might be because of your GB surgery. You had already shrank your stomach with the surgery, and had already lost the beginning "water weight". Just a thought. Hang in there... it will get better for you. I read another of your posts, and it sounds like you have your diet under control... and exercise as well. Check your measurements. I bet you have lost inches.

Hang in there!

I lost inches first before lbs..i was very frustrated my first week. Then by the second week I had lost about 6lbs..it was like I woke up one day and it was gone...hang in there and dont put too much pressure on yourself as you will lose the weight..drink lots of water and eat well..and exercise..that is all i do and its coming off slowly but steady!

Yes, everyone is different. Phen works on each person differently. DO not get discouraged. I know it is easy to do, I am fighting discouragment (is that the right word for it?) at the present moment myself. I had TOM in the beginning of the week and for someone who weighs herself every morning, it really discouraged me when I saw the scale creep up 4 lbs! I knew it was because of that deep down inside, but I still fretted over it.
How Phen makes you "feel" is also different for everyone. Some people "feel" the sudden rush when the pill "kicks in", others don't. I have been on it over a month now, sometimes I still feel it, but for the most part I don't have that actual sensation anymore. I do still have the major energy and dry mouth tho. I have been very stressed lately, and that is one of the number ONE things that can cause weight gain or a stall in the dieting process. I need to get my head on straight again, and keep plugging away. Continue to eat good foods, (recommended 3 meals a day plus healthy snacks in between) exercise how and when you can and keep your chin up. I am a BIG advocate of using a food and exercise journal. I have found that to be a very helpful part of my success. Hearing and talking disappears from your memory too quickly, but seeing it in black and white seems to make a bigger impact on me. I can always go back and reflect on it at a later date if need be. Thinking and remembering is not always so accurate. I use fitday.com, there are many others out there to try as well. I use the journal section not only to vent about my diet and exercise but it also helps me deal with other feelings I am having, and other "non-diet" issues as well. Like before, seeing them down in black and white makes a bigger impression on me personally. I hope this helps a little. DO not get discouraged. Keep you chin up and Phen is only an AID to help you lose weight....it only does about 15% of the work, you yourself have to make up for that other 85%. You did not gain the weight in one week, you may not lose it all in a week. Keep at it and it will pay off in the end.

Thanks guys. I use Fitday religiously! I love it!

If i can ask, what is TOM? Ive seen it mentioned before, but cant figure it out.

I know ive lost inches and am shaping up cuz I tried on a blouse this morning that i couldnt wear before and it fit perfectly! I have also incorporated some Tai Chi along with the elliptical and the pillates. I will continue! And I will TRY to not get discouraged!

TOM = Time of month

I think losing 1.5 in 5 days is fantastic! Don't fret that!! Don't compare yourself with others! You lost and that the main thing! You're doing it the healthy way and losing very slowly. You've already lost so much weight before you started I doubt you had any water weight to drop (which is what generally causes the quick drop at the beginning)!!

You're doing great! Keep it up!

Hey isn't chai tea loaded with calories? Hmmm.. maybe Im thinking of something else?
Anyway, Im sorry you are bummed. Make sure you drink at LEAST 64 ounces of water a day and more if you work out a lot.

[Big hugs]

Tai Chi is a workout. Its like Yoga. It helps to center your body, let you focus and be calm. Its a great stress releiver for me.
