I bought a scale at walmart months ago. I think it was only $15. I know your weight will vary from time to time, but my scale will vary from min to min...a couple of pounds. I usually try to weight myself at the gym also and it's close.

My scale said 249.5 today!! I was 257 at the beginning of last week. I was just shocked!! Maybe all this working hard at the gym is paying off. I've lost the holiday pounds that I gained over break!!
I wish I had the strength to weigh myself once a week. Losing and my phrends are the two things that keep me going! :heartpump: :heartpump:

    That is wonderful! Congratulations!
I always question my scale too! It is digital and it jumps up and down a pound or two. I plan on going by what the doctors office says (I check in for the first time on this Tuesday - can't wait). Usually what I do with my home scale though is step on it 3 times and then I accept the lowest weight!
Girl you worked for that weight so accept it!

    Thumbs up

Korina congrats on your weight loss!

As for whether or not your scale is accurate, if the weight is comparable to other scales and other scales are also showing that you are losing, it's safe to say that you are losing and doing an excellent job. Accept it.

This is just a little midwest common sense, but when I doubt mine, I put a 10 pound sack of flour on it to see if it's accurate. So far it hasn't lied to me, but the position on the floor will make a difference. Good luck. GNC food stores claim that all of their scales are accurate. I think it costs a quarter.

Accuracy? Hmmmm. I found that the scale (digital) I had for a few years that I bought on sale for about $20.00 was adding 2 lbs to everyone. How did I find out...went to doctors...two different doctors...two different scales. Both scales had me at same weight...my scale had me 2+ lb. Bought (spent some $$$$) on a good Tanita Scale (which measures body fat % to0) and it is accurate...same as doc's office.

I will tell you that spending a little more money for a very good digital scale is worth it.

Well i went to the neighbors and asked if he had a bag of sugar or flour that wasn't opened because i wanted to test my scale. He looked at me like

    To my surprise 5.0 exactly.

I realized the big difference also....Wearing clothes or shoes as opposed to weighing yourself right out of the shower.

Thanks for all the advice and motivation :heartpump: :heartpump:

I weigh myself first thing in the morning. I pee & then step on the digital scale 3 times I accept the lowest weight. I always weigh about 1 pound more after I get out of the shower (wet hair, etc) and weight fluctuates throughout the day as I drink SOOOOO much water
