Are you sure 1100 calories a day is enough? Just today I asked my trainer if he thought that 1400-1500 cals a day was enough for me(he also has a degree in sports nutrition). He says that at that level I probably would not even be able to gain any muscle and suggested 1700-1800. He also said that maybe if I tried eating my ususal cals. and then on Saturday bump it up to say 2000-2200 cals then on Sunday taper back to 1800 and then begin my usual 1500 for the week. He called it something like multi leverage carb loading. Anybody out there have any more suggetions??? Come on you all.

p.s. on the high calorie day that does not mean ice cream and junk, just more of the good stuff.

Well, You started at 168- and you've lost a total of 23 lbs right? How long has it taken you to lose this much weight? You could possibly be plateauing and you realize that is part of the process of losing weight right? Most everyone goes through plateaus, especially after losing a lot so quickly. I've also noticed that people in the lower weight range, such as yourself, tend to plateau quicker, and longer. I think you have a great regimen and I would continue to follow it! If you are plateauing, be glad. It's just another step toward reaching your goal. A step that most of us, unfortunately have to go through. I would suggest upping caloric intake to 1300-1500 and eating frequently to jump start your metabolism again. Good luck and let us know what happens!!

Sounds like the dreaded plateau has come on!

you may need to bump up the calories & try HIIT - that's a plateau breaker if I ever saw one!

    Good Luck!

(read some of TLGreene's HIIT related topics for info )

I know that sometimes it's hard to eat, but I also know that my body needs it and I force myself to eat every 3 hours. Even if it's something small like a protein bar or fruit or yogurt.

    Laura
p.s. I NEVER eat less than 1500 cals
