ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Authorities in northwest Georgia launched a manhunt Thursday for a man suspected of killing four people, including his 10-month-old daughter, and abducting three girls who investigators said are in "extreme danger."
Law enforcement officials are searching for 31-year-old Jerry William Jones to arrest him on murder charges. An Amber Alert has been issued for the girls, said Clint Harris, a Gordon County Sheriff's Department spokesman.
The alert follows the discovery late Wednesday of four bodies in a home outside Ranger, Georgia, about 75 miles northwest of Atlanta. Jones' 10-month-old daughter was among the dead, Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead said.
The children were identified as 10-year-old Brittney Phelps, 4-year-old Brandy Jones and 3-year-old Tammy Jones. Bankhead said the younger girls are Jones' daughters, and the 10-year-old is his ex-wife's daughter from another relationship.
"It's very dangerous for them right now. We're very concerned about it," Bankhead said.
Jones is believed to be driving a red or maroon 1991 Ford Explorer with Georgia license plate 730 YFV, Harris said. He was described as being about 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Site of the killings outside Ranger, Georgia.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the killings alongside Gordon County authorities.
The identities of the dead were not released Thursday morning.
Although investigators determined gunshots had been fired inside the residence, they were awaiting the results of an autopsy before disclosing a cause of death, Bankhead said.
A call from Jones' ex-wife sent deputies to the crime scene, according to Bankhead
