Anyone on thyroid meds?

I was just wandering if anyone on the site suffered from hypothyroidism and are taking medications for it? And if you were do you take Phentermine also. I had a lot of weight gain due to my thyroid and I am trying like hell to get it off with out much luck. I took phentermine about 21/2 yrs ago with great success. But now that I take the thyroid meds I wasn't sure if it was safe. I go to the doctor next week for a check up and I will also ask her about it.

I took phen and synthroid at the same time and was fine. But its probably a really good idea that your doctor keep a close eye on your levels. If your thyroid level were to go high for any reason, taking phen at the same time could probably make you anxious or agitated. As long as you follow the docs orders, I'm pretty sure it'll be fine. But ask to make sure! Better safe than sorry

Do you know your thyroid numbers the new norm is low very low make sure they work on that first then worry about weight. Mine were the " old norm" and went to specialist who was like no we want them here. i was on levoxal and cytomel. But thyroid is so tough. when it is regulated right my weight is easier to do when i work at it
