Hello there everyone! I was needing to pick some of your brains...I need to start taking my lunch to work but wonder if anyone has some good ideas on what to take besides the standard sack lunch?! LOL. That has been one of my problems...its just too easy to run & grab something at a fast food place.

Here's what I do. I go to the store and grab the small containers of like peaches and pears. I'm on weight watchers, so I count points. These are in the canned fruit isle and I get the kind that aren't saturated in sugar, they say "in it's own juice". These are usually 2 points each. Then, I pack 5 crackers and a piece of cheese. 3 points. Fat free cheese tastes just like the regular I think. I take ham roll ups. Ham, cheese and a pickle. If you like chips, buy the baked kind. Like baked doritos. They are A LOT less than the regular and they really don't taste too bad. Fat free jello that you make in little containers so all you have to do is throw them in your sack. I make it easy for myself since I"m already running late usually. When I buy things at the store, I automatically bring them home and break them up into servings so that when I'm ready to throw my lunch together I just have to grab one of the servings that are already made up! Pudding, soup. Healthy choice has some good soups out right now. Ok, I better shut up now, hope this helps

do you have a microwave at work? I bring the frozen entrees like healthy choice, smart ones, and lean quisine. They make it easier to count calories, fat, carbs or whatever because they have all the info right on the box. I usually also bring a snack like an apple or something incase I get hungry.Sometimes I bring soup too or a sandwich.

Yea, I was going to say the same thing about frozen lunches. You can also create some low-fat / Cal meals at home and then just freeze them in individual containers so you can have a verity throughout the week. Higher protein items freeze pretty good (meats, beans and even eggs).

Now, if that doesn't work for you then eat a skinny chic, they are low in fat but high in protein!!!

LOL habs!!!! Also, IF you are going to fast food get a salad or something like that. I find eating salads for lunch though they take longer to eat so depending on how much time you have that may not be an option. I know in the meat isle they have the precooked chicken strips for salads. Also, if you like Tuna they sell the little lunch kit that comes with all the stuff in one box. Tuna, mayo, crackers. Also, you might check in your deli section at the grocery store for premade salads. Whether it be lettuce salads or pasta salads. You can by like one serving worth if you want. That is what I do for my son cause I don't eat potato salad or pasta salad. I just get him a scoop full and it's usually less then a buck.. HTH, MIM

I bring my lunch every day. I do soup and sandwiches mostly. Turkey on white bread, or ham, but i am a pb&j lover! I know, not the best choice, but peanut butter is the 'good' fat and I need the protein. I also bring apples, bananas, grahm crackers, WOWS doritoes, goldfish, pretzels, and marshmallows. I keep my desk drawer stocked with stuff so that when I get a craving for something I have something to keep me out of the vending machines. Oh, also the Smart Pop butter popcorn is good.
