I ask that if you haven't, please take a moment to remember this day. 168 lives were lost due to this terrorist act. Nine years later and it still hurts so much.

Yes Imens. I already did my minute of silence at 9:05 this morning. I do every year. On the day of the incident, my old sunday school teacher was being buried, and the preacher (who had 2 daughters and a son in the bldg) went on down to Shawnee and preached the funeral. He said, I don't know where my children are, but I know God is watching over them. Well, his daughter Wanda was indeed killed in the attack. She was in the nursery holding a little one. She was found 3 days later. And, my cousin, who is FBI, got out alive. But it touched so many people. Thanks for posting girl.

    Have a wonderful day.

I was living in Ok at the time of the bombing and I heard the explosion, felt the earth shake and thought the world was coming to an end. It did in many ways. Though I knew only a couple of people that died that day and miss them to this day and always will I felt like my own life was spared for some reason. I had been in that building many times prior to that day.

MISSUS, LUNACHIC AND BOOMERSOONER, thanks for sharing your stories. I was 7 months pregnant with my second child and living in Oklahoma at the time of the bombing. I too would have thought the world was coming to an end had I heard that devastating explosion. You all take care and count those blessings.

p.s. My husband would like me to go with him and others in his office to lay a wreath in honor of our Marines who lost their lives that day. I don't think I can do it. I haven't even visited the site yet. My husband works in the new federal bldg. and I haven't been to his office yet because it's so close to the memorial.

Jae, we went to the site right after it happened, got a piece of the marble floor. My brother and his wife (he's a paramedic and she is a nurse) both worked that day. Vic was in class and he said his beemper just went red all the way aross and stayed that way. He had on jeans and sweat, but had to go. His pic was on CNN, (I told him I saw his fine @ss). He was holding the little PJ. I had been at the doctors office most of the day, because that was the day we found out that my daughter had scoliosis and had to have surgery, when I got home at 5, my mom called and said girl, bad stuff happened. Our world just has to get better.

    Have a beautiful day.

Missus, I got all choked up over what you wrote. Oprah had a boy who survived the bombing on her show. Just to watch the footage again was gut-wrenching. It is definitely a reminder of the important things in life. Time to give the kids some extra hugs and kisses when they return from school.
