Thread: Week 3 of Week by Week "Baby Step" Challenge

    Quick update for anyone reading this for the first time.

    I started a personal challenge to adopt one new healthy step a week. My first was water ... to drink 12 servings a day. Then I upped it to 14. The next week was to add in cardio 5x a week. I've been very successful.

    This week it is to make dinner my last amount of food for the night. I eat late enough where anything I am eating after that (which is normally often) it just based on emotional eating.

    This will be a hard week for me and a hard step, but I am ready!

    Anyone can join in, but I started this thread to just feel accountable. I have Phen, but don't take it. I want to completely change my habits ... not just suppress my hunger.

    I have to be committed now. Running to the mailbox feels like an Olympic sport. LOL

    Seriously, thank you. All you gals are keeping me on the straight and narrow. To know someone will be looking and may even comment on my behavior just helps me. Feels like face-to-face fitness buddies!

    Cater was really sick due to riding the cotton horse. I don't know where Fatty went though. Love that girl's name on here!

    Yes, Cater had a touch of the "bleedin' like a stuck pig 'n feelin' completely washed out 'n achies"....Napped for nearly 4 hrs Sat. after taking Ibuprophen for cramps up to my earlobes.. managed to get veggie garden planted yesterday. Went to mem. Day parade today.

    So, newbies...I'm doing this Challange, too, since Week 1. Welcome, if you're joining. I started w/12 waters/daily, too. been doing great on that. Added 5 F/v daily Week2, struggling w/that. Bought a pedometer Friday (when "the storm" hit) and today, actually is the first successful day using it. My goal is to exceed the number of steps from the day before, with the first ultimate goal of 10,000 steps daily (~5 miles).

    I discovered an interesting thing today...Do any of you recall me confessing (some time ago) that I bought a beautiful, expensive elliptical trainer, which now collects dust? WELL...go ahead an laugh, but I discovered [ok, this DOES qualify as a blonde moment] that if I shift the pedometer from the front to my hip/side, it will count (accurately) steps taken on the elliptical!!!!! Twice today I have hopped on to that bad boy and cranked out like 200 steps! It's 4:24pm and I'm up to 3536 steps. Woohoo!

    I AM feeling a LOT better...Still holding onto 3 lbs over last lowest WI, though...very frustrating. I get my 37.5mg's tomorrow...I'm thinking I might break them in half and take 30mg in a.m. and 18.75mg in afternoon. Been craving BIG time at night, all PMS week and all Cotton Horse weekend. GOT to reach my next goal!

    14 waters down the hatch. No cardio, but this was planned. I'll still get my 5 in with the first starting tomorrow. I ate dinner and am NOT eating again. Will post tomorrow AM to this fact to keep me on track.

    Cater, I'm going to weigh in every 2 weeks because I don't want to be completely disappointed. I get so much extra bloat with periods now. I can't believe mine actually came back again. BLECH!

    hi ladies!
    Logged some more miles yesterday, bringing my new daily minimum up to 3,768! I'm hitting up the old e-lip-tickle machine today,, between baskets of laundry and vacuuming...
    oh yeah--got at least 8 waters in, more but I lost rack, so how MUCH more, is unknown.

    Hi, everyone. I did NOT eat last night after dinner. I am telling you ... this is the first time I have refrained from eating even one thing for a few months. It was SO HARD. I keep getting up, going to the kitchen, and then saying, "Oh shoot, I'm not eating at night." I did this about 5x and each time after I reminded myself, I realized ... I wasn't even hungry! What a bad habit!

    Anyhow, from not eating before bed, I tossed and turned until about 3am. Hubby woke me up with coughing fit an hour and a half later. I did NOT want to work out today, but ... TA DA ... I DID! Run/walking intervals.

    8 waters already in as well. This is hard, but doable. I'm glad I have company.

    Captain--GREAT JOB!Night snacking is my worst enemy, too. That is SOME will power, girl! 5 times?! Wow. I'm humbled!

    I am exhausted...went to bed at 2am (awake watching tv, not tire...phen to blame? maybe)I had to get up at 6:30am today to get the kids off...And I can't nap today until UPS comes with my "signature required" Phen script. I ordered 37.5mgs, and am thinking I'll break them in half for afternoon/evening cravings which KILL me on the scale every day. I may resort to a bit of Ambien til I get the timing down pat. I'll nap later...

    I will be on and off that elliptical today, as it's cold, gray and raining today. Not very appealing to head out for a walk.

    Cater, I just posted on here and it's gone. I didn't realize how bad my nighttime eating was until last night! I was having withdrawals. I've never been on an elliptical. They look like fine though.

    I didn't eat last night. Oh my gosh, it was hard again, but I took an Ambien to fall asleep. Had some fun with hubby also.

    I worked out this morning for 30 minutes ... powerwalking. I hope this is actually doing something to my body. LOL

    I am wiped--I needed a nap today. Got some walking in but not enough yet. Still working on water. Only thing I've eaten is movie theatre popcorn (groan)...Went to see Day after tomorrow...good flick!

    Hey Ladies. Good to see you going on. I have done my 1 hour bicycle, and 100 ozs of water so far. I' will probably have a rib tip and salad in about an hour. Em, I remember last year when we did that no eating after 6 or 7. Think I lose 6 pounds for the short time we did it. Sounds like it is working for you. Carry on

    Glad you checked in!
    Dang--100oz...and counting?!
    That extra 3 pounds that had been haunting me pre-menstrual and beyond is finally budging a bit. 208.5 this a.m. from 210-211 (over 207.4).

    Dang it all....Back and forth, back and forth...

    My next weightgoal is below 200 by end of June.
    I just rcvd my new batch of Phen...actually and extra batch. I'm thinking either add half in afternoon, or just switch to the 37.5's...Any advice?

    Not sure. I've heard a lot of people have success with the 37.5. But girl, you are doing great. 22 pounds is a lot of pounds. Keep it going. KNow you will hit onderland by June 30. YOu have a birthday coming up too, right? What a perfect way to celebrate.

    Sorry I'm late. Son was sick yesterday (stayed home from school) and I think I got what he had. I just couldn't sleep and then I woke up feeling horrible. I didn't exercise and have been trying to get what I need to get done, but it's so hard. I hate feeling lousy.

    Everytime I think of it, I drink more water though. I still need to get in 3 exercise sessions this week to make my goal!!

    I didn't eat lastnight either. It wasn't as hard as the first day, but I wake up so hungry! At least I don't walk into the kitchen anymore. LOL

    Missus, this usually happens to me when I begin changing my life a bit in the health department. I think no sleep caught up with me.

    Drank all 14 servings of water yesterday. Did NOT eat after dinner.

    Today I did run/walking intervals for 30 minutes, drank 6 waters so far, and feel a lot better!

    Mel, I've been missing you. I hope you check in every now and again yourself. Just to say how you're doing or if you took a walk. Sometimes knowing someone may be looking in on you, helps! Thanks for the compliment also. I'm not doing much now, but at least what I'm doing is feeling permanent!

    Hey ya--

    PHEW! I went for a walk with my kids' school today, 4 miles. Gorgeous day, 70 and sunny! Drank 12 waters so far...Still hanging onto that dern water weight...weighing 209 or 210,,,

    I switched to 37.5mg two days ago..Hope the switch helps. It certainly makes me feel fu-uh-uh-ulllll! I think I may add 2 glasses of water, just to help things out...

    Suggestions?

    Hey yaw, how's it going? I've been in and out today. Did a whole lot of water. Put me down for 140 ounches. And I'm about to do one hour on the bicycle, with weights.
    Cater, girl, I need to walk 4 miles, but my little one gets winded when we walk too far.
