Please tell your dad to check with the lawyer on consultation(free advice) before hiring because he may want to use his funds to pay off the debt instead of fight it, because in the end either your mom agrees to remove it (still need the courts permission) or it will take avery long time to reverse this. I do have my brokers license in Florida and if I can help with any financing options let me know The system is set up for these debts to not be released without a huge reason and the agreement from the other spouse to remove the debt and courts do not look in favor of anyone who owes CS in there eyes regardless of the deal or reasoning. I am sorry again but keep me posted. Dont let it get you down it will all work out.
