Thread: Is it safe for me to take Phentermine?

    Question

I am trying Phentermmine for the first time and just took my first pill (15mg). I tried another prescription weight loss pill (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to mention the name) 2 years ago and lost a ton of weight and was ecstatic about the results, but every now and then I would experience a tight clenching feeling in my chest. It would happen very quickly and only last for a split second but felt pretty intense. It still happens rarely so it might not be related to the medication at all but it still kind of scares me. The main reason I quit the pills was due to the deaths and lawsuits I kept hearing about related to the medication. My question is do you guys think I might experience the same on Phentermine? Does anyone else ever feel this way and have their been any deaths associated with Phentermine? I also drink pretty regularly and am wondering if that's okay. I run about fours days a week and lift weights but my problem is I love to eat! One of my favorite hobbies is cooking and when I get in the kitchen I ain't gonna be wasting my time with grilled chicken and salad! I prefer a rich and hearty meal that will satisfy me and my man. I also eat out way too much so I thought Phentermine could help me lose these 15 lbs that won't budge. Anyway I'm rambling but I'll let you know how it goes! And any advice would be appreciated! Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

Hey wannabebuff, did your doc prescribe the phen? If so, he could answer health questions. If you are having intense pains (no matter how brief), I would tell doc before taking the phen. But I will tell you, a lot of people have lost a lot of weight on phen.

    Good luck.

Hi Missus, thanks for responding so quickly! I ordered the phen online, so I have no doctor! I haven't had the pain in a while, and I feel great right now. I just took the pill an hour ago, so I don't know how long it takes to experience side effects, but none so far! Hopefully I will handle it well! I'm going to start out taking it every other day and will only take it for two months then I'll take a break from it for one month and then get back on it for another two. Hopefully this will keep it from losing its potency and causing adverse effects. Do you ever take a break from it? I read that you can't take it for more than 3 months. Just curious.

    Hi Wannabe & welcome.

When I got my phen I didnt get it from a doctor either but didnt feel any chest pain at all. I just had the dry mouth which was a good thing so I drank alot of water. If you experience any chest pains I would definitely go see a doctor just to make sure. Phen is a great thing and alot of people take it and have gotten wonderful results from it. What was the other diet med you were taking?

I would probably recommend taking a break off of phen after the 3 months period for at least 2 weeks and then go back on it.

Welcome again and glad your here

If you experience chest pains then you should go to the dr. We can't give you any real advise on this except to go to a dr and have the chest pain looked into. Phen does raise your blood pressure if you already have the condition. If you already have some type of heart condition then I think this might make it worse and I would be VERY careful.

I'm very nervous about you taking Phen when you have an undiagnosed heart condition!!! I don't think it's a good idea at all.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I am going to visit the health center on monday and get myself checked out to be sure I'm okay to continue with the phen. By the way, I was taking Meridia before.
