Just got my pictures back from my Mother's Day beach trip. 25 pounds lighter and 20 inches smaller...so why do I see the same fat cow in the pictures as LAST summer?!?!?!? Argh....

I do notice a difference in my belly in the sitting down pics, but that's about it. DANG! I was hoping I would see MIRACLES!

My scannner died, and I have a new one coming on Tues. so I will try and post some pics then.

Are you sure ????? 160 to 137 is a big difference!
I'd say you went from a size 10 to a size 6-8, and you can't see a difference ???? I bet you look great ! You know pictures add about 10 pounds. Chin up girl !

I used to do that and then I realized I was being selfish and insensitive to the people around me that were bigger. And they would get pissed off and mad at me. We are our worst critics and often don't see reality when we look at our own bodies. Have you done a side by side of last years pics? I bet you look incredible!

    TwiceBlessed,

I noticed last year, that I loose 5-7 pounds and actually look worse for a while, and feel worse because it was like I was swimming around in a bunch of loose skin. It would take me about 10 days for my skin to catch up to the weight loss. Then I'd start all over again.

Maybe those pictures were taken at a point where your body hadn't caught up with the loss yet, and because of that, it doesn't really show in those particular pictures.

Besides, the camera adds 10 pounds, dontcha know? Go take a good look in a full legnth mirror and you might be surprised at what you see now.

Girl, there is no way that you lost those 25 pounds and you can't see a difference!! I have lost 14 so far and I see a huge difference in myself. When we see your pictures, I'll bet we see a beautiful woman with a great figure. Perhaps you need to change your mindset about yourself. If you are still seeing yourself as a "cow" then it is probably in your mind.

    Thumbs up

    Listen up Twice Blessed....

You've done well on your weight!

My stats are not far from yours....i started out being (or squeezing into) a size 10, but in reality i was probably a 12.

I went shopping on mother's day and bought me a few size 8 slacks for work. In the back of my closet is a size 7 jean (NOT the baggy kind), so i tried that on and it was such a perfect fit!! i just stared into the mirror at my "new" body.

i've gotten many compliments on my weight loss and it's human nature to see the negative side of us first. The positive side is a learned thing and needs to be reinforced within oneself daily!

I don't look at recent pics and see myself as a cow anymore (i did that too!) but I see how fortunate I am to have lost it, and mentally challenge myself to keep with the decent eating and walking (30-60 min, 3 days a week), just enough to keep the metabolism on a low purrrrrr

There is sound advice here, and girl..go put on some SKINNY clothes and enjoy what you see and what skinny feels like!

    Kait
