I have the worst cravings for peanut butter all the time but the problem is there are 190 calories in 2 tbsp!!! Any reduced calorie alternatives out there?? I know there is a reduced fat peanut butter, but it still has the same amount of calories in it as well.

Cool
I sometimes think we put too much emphasis on the wrong numbers rather than the nutritional value of what we eat. If we put our calories in nutritionally sound foods (such as natural peanut butter) - we would all be in better shape today. I eat natural peanut butter every morning (on a piece of Whole Grain - Ezekial toast). I usually only use 1 tbsp (which is half of the "serving size" listed on the jar). It keeps me satiated and fufills my craving for PB. Now I recently read an article in Fitness magazine on the benefits of peanut butter. (I wish I could quote it, but I think I've passed it on to a friend) but I do remember specifically this.... It's packed with protein. The fat content is primarily unsaturated and all naturally occuring, and the fats it does contain are those which our body needs to stay healthy and feel full. Remember... this is only the natural peanut butter. Plus it has fiber! This magazine article actually recommended it as an alternative to butter or margarine on your toast every day. Bottom line... Eat Your peanut butter and skip those afternoon pretzels or low fat chips.

peanut butter is good for you. In moderation of course. Go natural-- no sugar or processed oils. Some fats are good for you. So my vote is give into your craving but don't over do it.

i went to a nutrionalist and she said that peanut butter is a great option to butter. She says to put it on toast instead of butter. Natural also!!! She insistes that u use it on your apple or celary because it is LOADED with protein and when we diet a lot of times we don't get the needed protein! It gives me a lot of energy when I start the morning out with peanut butter toast!
Do not judge another unless you have walked a mile in their shoes!

Lost Weight: at one time almost 40 pounds...but it\'s all back now
Current Weight: 174...sadly. I was down to 135.
Goal Weight: 135 was my original goal...met it in June 2002 now I\'m going for it again.
I have recently added peanut butter back into my regular diet. It really does stave off hunger...everything is bad in excess...peanut butter has a bad rap because of its fat level, but really it is the healthy fat...just like avocados are good for you, though they're high in fat.
