This is sooo cool.. baby related.. not phen related..

Ok back in September my brother in law and his wife had a baby. I got a call from Turkey telling me to come up with a name.. which is Rana.

So here she is 5 months old now. Still have not seen pics.. they keep swearing they will send them. Today I was talking to Salih and he asked if I wanted to talk to Rana. I was like she is a baby.. she cant talk.. he said yes she can. He put her on the phone. She could repeat everything he said.. exactly and clearly! Even my name which is not easy for little folks. I was floored! 5 months old! I have never heard such a thing.

Now there things are much different. Children are cherished and there are no crimes against them. At the same time, parents still spank, children still know what respect is, they dont have access to the things kids here do, they actually go outside and play, go to bed when told, eat what they are fed and seldom get fast food and dont get to play video games all night.

Rana sits for hours and plays by herself, I can hear her in the background laughing and talking and when I ask, she is sitting there alone just having a grand time. I cant wait to go meet her!

Anyway I just was so surprised to hear a 5 month old baby talk. Salih even said she sits up and plays. I didnt think they sat up until they were older much less talked till they were older. she will be 8 months when I go in April so I can only imagine!

Sounds to me like she may be a gifted child if she can TALK. You should get her some flashcards of shapes and fruits and things like that. Also start her with the alphabet. I bet she would love that!

I was so shocked. For a baby not only to speak at that age but to be able to correctly and clearly repeat something in a language she does not even know.. amazing to me. They only speak Turkish other than when Salih or Yasin talks to me then they speak English. I cant wait to meet this little darling!
