    Question

    I need to change my diet in order to get myself out of this stall. I really like the idea of a low carb diet, but I don't want to increase my fats. Has anyone ever done or heard of a low fat & low carb diet?? Any input is greatly appreciated!

    Taylor: I have been on Atkins for a couple weeks now and have been reading the book. According to Dr. Atkins, you CANNOT efficiently do a Low Carb diet and Low Fat together. The book gives exact reasons, which, of course, I don'tr remember specifically, but you can find out more at atkinscenter dot com....

    Hey girl, let me tell ya, I don't eat carbs during the week, and once on weekends to keep myself sane. During the day, with the help of fitday.com my fat doesn't go over 20. I usually average in the teens. Somedays I do in the 20's. Now, u will get carbs from fruits and veggies as well. I still east those things, but in moderation. SO my carb intake for the day is mostly 10-15, but those are different carbs than from bread, pasta, rice, etc. Lettuce has carbs, tomatoes, etc., so just watch your portions. As far as the fat thing, mine is never too high just because my carbs are practically none. Don't worry about it. If u have any questions about my specific eating habits u can ask!!!! Good luck!!!

    Thanks for the info. Star- what do you eat then if it's not high fat?? The things with low carb seems to be mostly meats and high fat stuff. What do you go by?? Thanks again!

    Well, for breakfast I will eat one piece of fruit, which blows the carb count up, but it's better than bread carbs or maybe some egg whites. Lunch I will eat, like today, dry tuna on lettuce with vinegar (my lunches are pretty much the same everyday), then for dinner I will have approx 1 cup of veggies and maybe chicken, or a nice egg white omelette with veggies and some 2% cheese. Ya gotta be creative, some nights I'll marinate cooked shrimp in hot sauce, then grill it up with some string beans and spinach. ALL FRESH VEGGIES! I NEVER go over on fat, but my problem is that my calories hardly go over 700, some days I can't get them over 300. I know it's not good, but I am satisfied with this.
    BUT, one day on the weekends I eat whatever, I don't count sh*t, I don't do nothing, I don't go totally crazy out of control either, but I still cheat. Bread, fats, whatever. Good Luck!!!
