    Question

I had a c-section in july 2002 and i was up to 276 lbs. then. But my body has completely changed its shaped, now my lower ab section is not losing fast and doesnt seem to be going back to how it was prior to pregnancy. Anyone else have this problem or any suggestions?

    Unhappy

I had a c-section 5 years ago. I am having the same problem...no matter what I do my lower stomach just hangs. I also had to have my c-section scar opened up again and actually made longer, I had endometriosis and they had to go in and remove it so I am sure my muscles are totally shot now.

I've had 4 c-sections and the weight will stick around that area longer now because all of the muscles have been compromised. You will have to work longer and harder to get the weight off in that section. Just a fact of life. In the end if I hit my goal weight my husband has promised me a tummy tuck

I had a C-section almost 2 yrs ago (3/1/01). It took about a year for my belly to go down. I couldn't feel my lower ab muscles either for a while. Once I felt recovered I started doing "kathy Smith's pilates for Abs" video and that changed everything. It was the only thing that helped me get my muscle strength back and tone my lower belly. Now I just have a problem with some extra skin. Extra skin can't be exercised off, either it tightens up on its own, you're stuck with it or you'll have to have it tucked some day. I'm just going to keep the muscles strong, lose the weight and find a way to except any extra skin.
My highest weight (3 months after my C-section) was 246. I think my highest weight at the end of my pregnancy was more like 260 but 14 of that was just baby, fluid etc... not really weight gain.
I'm pretty happy with my scar. My Dr said they made sure to sew it up as beautifully as they could since I'm a young women and they understand that I may want to wear a bikini again some day, I laughed! I haven't worn a Bikini in 12 yrs. I appriciate their optomism though, lol

I had a c section 6 and a half years ago. My c-section got infected though and I had to be recut open, and then they couldn't staple it shut again so I was on bedrest for 2 months and had to naturally close so my scar is pretty bad. I've noticed that I have a pouch of skin that I'm not really pleased with the results. It took along time before I started actually seeing my belly decrease, actually I've only just now noticed it. I do alot of work on my stomach...I do 250 of the situp machine thing every time I work out. I'm hoping that as I get closer to goal that it even gets better with another 30-40 lb loss. I figure the skin may be a little "flabby" but as long as it doesnt stick out I won't worry too much about it. I might have to try that pilates.

    Hey,
Its a video tape you can buy at amazon, collage video dot com or best buy. Its called "Kathy Smith's Pilates for Abs" Not be confused with her lower body pilates workout.
My belly shrunk by 4 inches the first 3 weeks I used it even though I only lost a couple lbs during that time. I used it 2-3 times a week. I use it 1-2 times a week now. This is the success I've had with it anyway. I've done crunches till I was blue in several positions but that wasn't for me. This tape changed everything, for me anyway.

I have had 2 c-sections and i have the same problem. It is horrible and i haveread if your overweight before it all just hangs there after that. when i had my son i came home and saw myself in a full length mirror and saw what the c-section left me and i cryed for a long time but then i had twins a year ago and it didnt get better or worse! Might try those pilates tapes though!

Oh good...glad to see I'm not alone with my kangaroo pouch. My 3rd son ended up being a c-section too. Oh good- pilates for abs may help with this problem (hopefully). Okay, I'm gonna look for that tape so I can buy it and blast my lower abs. Thanks for sharing the info....

    I had a c-section 5 yrs ago.
I find it hard to "isolate" any lower ab muscles.
honostly I dont do alot of work down there.
I should to more. I just dont have time.
about 2 times a week I do some crunches and such.
I have a flabby pouch too.
    and extra skin.
but the scar itself is kinda small.
