Cool
HI all-

I have been lurking around this forum for about 6 months and I thought I should finally introduce myself. I almost feel as if I know many of you from the posts I have read.

My weight story - I never had a problem with weight until I was 23 years old. Like a lot of people, tough times brought out the bad habits. I was getting out of a bad relationship, I lost my job and my best friend died in the space of 3 weeks. That was about 5 years ago. At the time I gained about 40 pounds. I got into partying and drinking. My job was almost all travel so I ate a lot of expensive food and drank a lot of expensive vodka. Over the next 4 years I maintained the higher weight, but didn't gain any more.

Then, this past year, I got married.

It has been tough (I heard the first year is always tough). He lost his job, we didn't have any money, we had to deal with immigration (he is from the UK), and I lost almost all of my friends because they all think married people are evil. That is an exaggeration, but we were a very tight group of VERY single girls. Anyway, I gained another 20 pounds in about 2 months and my doctor totally freaked out.

I half-heartedly have been trying to lose weight throughout 2002. But, in November, I got really serious. I started keeping a food journal at fitday dot com. It is AMAZING!!! And FREE!!! I could really see what I was putting in my body everyday - what a shock! I have only used phentermine a few times just to help out. But, it doesn't do much for me. I have to stick the old, boring routine - eat better, exercise more, drink water

Wow!! This post is soooo long. Sorry - and thanks for all your posts. They really help!!

This reply is for Sunny,

I've just started taking Phen today, I'm afraid to get my hopes up that it'll work for me as well as it has for others, and when I read that it didn't work for you I got even more sceptical that it won't work for me either. Why don't you think that it worked for you and has it ever worked for you in the past?

SunnyCA...6 months A belated welcome to you So happy you introduced yourself!!

Don't worry about not being able to use phen, as Keew said...many here don't use phen for one reason or another. I made a 90day supply last a year and I still have some left Which I won't be using cause Hubby and I are trying for a baby.

You are not alone...diet and exercise and water are the major keys to success. Phen does help most but it isn't the "reason" the big losers have lost...dedication and the 3 previously mentioned ingredients are

Rach1happygirl Welcome to you too Don't be afraid. Hopefully phen will work for you but even if it does don't put all your faith in it. Start now with a great exercise program, drink your water (fitness experts recommend 1 gal a day but start slow and work up), and eat a healthy well balanced diet (at least 1200 calories a day). And do like SunnyCA and use a tracking system for your calories it really does help. For one many forget to eat in the beginning and their body goes into starvation mode (refusing to drop a pound).

Best of luck to you both...come here often for motivation and support and don't be afraid to speak up if you need anything

Hi, I thought I'd post here as well. Also new to this website and a one week user of Phentermine. I have gained my extraordinary girth with love - love of food, and love of having children(heredity also snuck a whammy on me) Anyway, my father passed away from a heart attack over a year ago while I was pregnant with my last child. I made a pact with myself that when I was done with my pregnancy and nursing I would commit to whatever it takes to drop the weight, not just for myself and my own health but for my children. I want to make sure I am around for them for a very long time.

So here I am 1 week using phen, and it has been a miraculous tool for me. I have no problem with exercise or being on a sensible diet. My problem has always been the desire to binge and cravings. The phen has short circuited my brain somehow and taken away those cravings. I have chips(salt), choclate covered m&m's(choclate), and Frosted Flakes(sugar)in the house and have no desire to eat them. My first week has been astounding. I have lost 7 pounds. I still have a long way to go but I know with my cravings under control I have a real chance to change my eating habits for good.

It's nice to have support through this website and to see everyones pictures. I will have to post some when I get to my first goal of below 200. Thank you everyone for helping me with inspiration.

Hi all - I posted under new members but thought I would say hi here too. I have been reading for a while and just started taking phen last Thursday - so I guess that means I have been on it for a week! I have noticed that I do not snack at all like I used to. I am drinking tons of water and eating reasonably well. I am not on the Atkins diet but have decided to try as much as possible not to eat carbs. Oh, I am a single mother of a 4 year old daughter - and I am in my second year of medical school. I do not have a scale so I have no idea if I have lost any weight yet - I think I will just go in every month and weigh at the hospital. My ideal weight would be somewhere around 120, I am only 5'2" so extra weight really shows on me. Perhaps more than that would be if I could fit into a size 8 - what really got me going on the diet was the fact that over the Christmas holiday I had to buy new clothes because nothing fit me - I had been wearing either scrubs (which are quite roomy) all day and then pjs at home for at least 4 months so I put on a lot of weight. Anyway, eventually I ended up going to Lane Bryant because no one else had anything that fit right - and I was stunned that the size 18 was a little tight on me. I decided then that for my health I needed to lose the weight - so that is my story and here I am.
