I'm starting on phen tomorrow and I'm very excited! I've already read a lot here and it's very encouraging...and enlightining. I've been conviced about needing to change eating habits and excercise.

My question is about water intake. I don't really like water and therefore don't drink as much as I should. I do drink a lot at work...but mostly I like to eat ice!

I'm wondering if those clear fruit flavored carbonated drinks (from walmart...I don't remember what they're called) will substitute for SOME water intake. I can handle those better than just water.

Thanks!
Debi

Hi there I also just started today. I know what you mean about the water it canbe hard if you do not feel like your really thirsty which by that time your actually getting dehydrated.Carbonated beverages are not good replacements for water as the water helps your body to flush out the toxins and fat as it gets loosened in your system.Try drinking water when you eat and after it really is important to have this kind of flushing for your kidneys and liver as well when your taking any kind of prescription or supplement.
Carbonated beverages can add unwanted calories and artifcial fluctuations in your blood sugar thus making you crave certain comfort foods later in the week after you have consumed them.
So there is no substitute for water but I find even the first day on that my mouth has been dry and I have been quite thristy espcially after I have worked out and during so this helps me to drink as my mouth is so dry.So I hope this helps you a bit.Hang in there you can do it you will soon see!!!

I would think those would be fine, but i think you'll find that carbination may affect you oddly...it does me. It makes me feel full which is a plus, but it can make you gassy, and I heard somewhere just plain ole water is best- because there is nothing added to it like sugar for that fruity flavor. Have you tried just adding lemon or lime or something to your water. Some people take a citrus fruit (orange, lime, lemon- whatever) and cut it into pcs and freeze it and use them as ice cubes. Also if your an ice-chewing fan, you might want to try freezing grapes, it sounds weird, and i dont' use them as ice in my water, but they're a treat to **** on that's cold and sweet!

Welcome! Glad your here. I've been here awhile but lately I've been lurking myself. Anyway, I'm not sure what to tell ya on those clear fruit drinks other than to be sure to check the calories. Also, I like Crystal Light as a substitute for some of my water. At any rate, Good luck! Keep us informed!

Thank you all for your input. I was talking about the no calorie drinks at walmart. I got some tonight and I guess I'll drink them for some of my water intake, but not much. I just need a little change I think. They don't have any calories (no fat, no carbs...acutally they have nothing! ) so I'm not worried about that. I was just wondering about the carbonation it them...

Thanks again...you all are very helpful!
