I have a job interview scheduled for this afternoon. The company I am with now will be moving our corporate office to Michigan in August.
Well I was contacted by an agency here about this new company relocating here. This is a HUUUUUGE company that just by the name is well known. The interview is 2 hrs long. A friend of a friend had one with them on Monday and she was telling me about it. They will be doing a background, credit, and driving record check. I am somewhat neverous.... What could you possibly say about your self for 2 hrs? Denise

Try to relax and be yourself. One of the things they will probably look at is if you crack under pressure. Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

Two hours?!! Wow! Did your friend tell you what she did for two hours? Is there a test involved?! I used to work with teenagers at a job placement program during the summer. We had them practice answering every possible question they could be asked. I don't think I could come up with two hours worth of questions! Just be positive and make eye contact. You'll be great!

I don't get it though.. I usually don't sweat interviews but the friend was telling me that she spent 1.5 hrs with the PR Mgr & all she was asked was personal things/info. They didn't talk about salary, job description, etc - those things. Then she met with the HR Mgr for 30min. and she asked the same questions. Maybe it was b/c the friend didn't ask about the job - I don't know. I can understand the background check, but that's pretty extensive and deep!
I know for me, if I'm going to be driving 50 miles to work, I'm going to make sure I know what I will be doing and what kind of company I will be working for. Just knowing what I do - it's makes me a bit nervous. |

GOOD LUCK today. I'm sure you will do just fine. It's always nice to have a heads up from someone who has already been interviewed. Atleast you'll know the basic format. Let us know how it goes

BeBe,
Good Luck! I just wanted to tell you to be very very honest about your driving record and work history. NOT that I think you wouldnt be honest but sometimes little things get forgotten. I worked in management for a large company and did the hiring for my division. If there were any discrepancies in what they put on their application and what the credit/driving record showed the hiring process stopped immediately, no matter how qualified they were. When they do a credit check they will also be able to pull your work history. They just want to make sure you havent had 14 jobs in the past 12 months, etc. lol I wish you the best of luck!!!
