Someone, ANYONE, are there cures for acne? I have NEVER had a problem before, and for some unknown reason, the past week my face is breaking out. I don't even wear makeup. I wash my face twice daily with noxema and I have NO IDEA why this is happening to me

Could it be the phen? Or maybe the humidity? It's not like my entire face has broken out, it's just on my chin. But I KNOW IT'S THERE!!! (OK deep breath) Anyway, I'm freaking out cuz I've never experienced this before. I feel like I'm going through puberty or something.

My chin breaks out terribly on phen. I've started just taking half of a 37.5 mg a day this past week (down from a whole one) and it's getting better. Personally, I think it was the phen - no proof to back it up, just a feeling I have. I went down to half a dose cuz my hair has been falling out like crazy this past month. I've been on phen since October - I guess it's time for a little break. I got real scared when my hair started falling out. It's like I can just comb my fingers through my hair ONCE and get like 6 strands. I don't want to lose any more! (Hair, that is. Pounds I would like to lose.) So I'm taking a little break and letting my body get back to normal and then maybe go back on it if I need to. I'm weaning off it, though. When I don't take it for a day, I just crash - too tired to exist. So I'm weaning.... and this post was supposed to be about pimples - LOL - guess I'm just ramblin!! So to answer your question - YEP! I break out only on my chin when I'm on phen.

Noxema is pretty oily. You might want to try biore deep pore cleanser or neutrogena. It couldn't hurt to try acne wash--e.g., clearasil. It's actually quite gentle and non-drying. If all else fails perhaps see a dermotologist.

I have a few pimples but nothing major yet. I'm just going to use clearasil.

Thanks Cassie,

You've made me feel a bit better, but I'm still somewhat sad I feel like I'm showing the signs of pregnancy, only this time around, I'm DEFINITELY not pregnant. But I've been losing my hair also. Didn't really think that could be phen related? Just thought it came from having really thick hair? I, unfortunately, am taking the capsules with the little tiny beads inside, so I can't cut my 37.5 in half. Perhaps I can switch back when my script runs out this month? UGH to be a female and have all these hormones topped off with phen. (LOL, wow when I re-read the last sentence, I wonder how my hubby deals with me on a daily basis?) Yes see, I too can babble But if this persists longer than a week or so (I didn't realize that I could also be pms'ing, that could play into this also?) I'm gonna ask my doc when I see her in 2 weeks. Thanks though for letting me know I'm not alone. Let me know how you do withdrawing from the phen.

Thanks Miel-

I didn't know noxema was oily. I will go buy a different product and see if it helps. At this point, I'm willing to try anything. (If it'll make me feel better)

I think Neutrogena has some good stuff. I know they've got stuff that is supposed to be really good for body acne. (I've read in Magazines about it, called clean and clear and has salicylic acid as the active ingredient. What the pros recommend) I bet they have something good like that specifically for the face. Check it out. Then maybe get a good facial moisturizer for the face that won't cause acne cause acne treating stuff can be drying.

My brief history, I have always had acne mostly in the chin area. last year I startes breaking out around my neck, I always assume I had crazy hormones or something... but this past year my face wasn't breakin out as bad as previous years so I was happy! BUT....
This past week me chin broke out and I don't know why... I been on phen for three months and I have had no problems with my acne, at my last dr's appt. he even commented how my face why looking clearer. I noticed you live in NJ maybe its your body ajusting to the change in seasons....

I have bad allergies and this week , I have a had a migrane for days now! thsi is when face broke out I don' t know if there is a connection but I think ther is.

Have you been in the sun latley> to much sun sometimes makes my face break out.

as for ways to treat it...try not to over wash your face, sometimes over washing dries out the skin and irritates it. Use a mild cleanser Nutragena is a good but since it only on your chin don't use the deep pore kind.

Drink Lots of water!
Don't use scrub wash because it can also irritate the skin and make the condition worst.

I notice with myself if I use a deep cleasing mask like a mud or something the next day my face breaks out. I think it because it brings all the impurities out. but as we know everyone is differrent.

sorry I just ramble. Hope I was of some help.

I have had the same problem!! I absolutely hate it! I have never even come close to having this problem before -- sure I had the catastrophic "NORTH STAR" on my forehead as a teenager and similiar episides, but nothing like this. I am SURE it is the phen. I'm getting mad. If my hair starts falling out, I QUIT!!! I don't know which would be worse, being overweight or being a thin zit-head with clumps of hair sticking out of my mostly bald scalp. Hmmm -- I'd really have to give it some thought. (lol) SOmeone did tell me to go to the healthfood store and get some Biotin. It is supposed to tremendously help skin and hair. So far, I have not had a problem with my hair. It might help. If you can think of any solutions, or hear of one -- let me know.

Wow thanks guys! I am SO happy to know this is not just me, that I have other phensters in the same boat. I am just going to try everything imaginable, there's bound to be something that'll work!!!!

And I really thought that sunning would dry the skin? Cuz isn't that why they tell you to use lotions and moisturizers in conjunction with tanning, so your skin doesn't dry out? I could be wrong, I'm not a dermatologist, I'm just a confused person
