Ok I have heard this word several times, and every time I hear it, it drives me crazy because I have no idea what it means. Bear with me here, I have no idea how to spell it, so I am just going to spell it how it sounds..
bodequa.

I have heard it several songs over the past few years, and now JLO's Jenny on the Block.

Brandi- It is not in the lyrics there, but she says it in the video. Bodequa is in da house. I don't think that helps at all.

Hey girls,

Hehehehe... you guys are funny!! I'm from Chicago, so I'm pretty familiar with the word...It is "boriqua" but when pronounced the r sounds like a d. It simply means Puerto Rican...

Yeah, that's what that means...Some people spell it "boricua" but either way it is a term used by Puerto Ricans to refer to themselves...The word has been used a coupla of times in songs...and squidgers, you probably heard "boriqua modena" in a song by Angie Martinez...that was a pretty popular song...It means Puerto Rican woman (modena means brown haired woman)...

Y Danie is true! Boriqua is used by Puerto Ricans. It is in a lot of their music. My hubby is Mexican, but lived with 2 Boriquas. Those two guys always use that word in refering to themselves. It is a very PROUD word. I remember going to latin clubs w/ hubby and them, and they would hear that word in a song, and FREAK OUT. Crazzzzzzzy people....VERY PROUD people. But one thing is true...They know how to PARTY!!!!!!!

haha Berrones, you're right, they are crazzzzy people!! Sometimes I would go out, and when they heard the word in a song, groups of them would just start chanting the word!! Man, do they know how to party!!
