    Question

Silverstar,I dont know if you smoke or not, but you sound like your having symptoms of Hemoptysis. That is a condition that smokers sometimes get its when you throw up blood from you respiratory tract when there is an infection present. And most of the time when you have a fever you usually have an infection.Im not trying to scare you, but you need to go to the doctor it could be more serious it could be a busted vessel in your lungs or the problem could be in your stomach its not good to keep a fever that long PLease Go Get Checked Out By a Physician.OK Keep Us Posted

    Coughing Blood - Online Diagnosis

Online diagnosis of coughing blood and hemoptysis based on the patient's individual symptoms.
    New Treatments, February 8, 2002.

For how many days have the symptoms been present?

    How old is the patient?

Is the patient a smoker? Yes No

Has the patient smoked in the past? Yes No

Does the patient have chest pain?
    Yes No

Does the patient have a fever? Yes No

This might help you out a bit see if this describes you in anyway. If you dont smoke it could be something else more serious. So please go get checked. Im concerned about you.If you answer yes to all of these, this could probably be your problem, if it is there is treatment.

    Hey there Silver~
I'm not a nurse, but I think you should go to the doctor, too. That is a long time to have a fever, especially if you seem to be feeling worse instead of better. I'm such a not go to the doctor kind of person, but I really really think you should go. If you have pneumonia or a bad infection or something, you really need to catch it and start treating it.

Please call a doctor!! {{{HUG*** I hope you feel better.
    Cassie

I have a friend who is an RN. She is taking a Pharmacology class and she said that Phentermine and other medications similar to Phen can make a virus more aggressive.

So, according to her, if you get cold sores for example, you will probably get them more often while on Phen. These type of viruses can be triggered by stress. Phen raises the metabolic level in the body and does put a type of stress on the body (increased heart rate, sweating, etc.).

You might want to consider tapering off the Phen while sick.

Also, for God sakes- see a doctor, you are throwing up blood! That isn't normal, ever!

Silver.....I am so sorry you are not well. You need to be evaluated....see the doctor in the a.m.....and you are correct, if you get worse...go to the emergency room. Sounds like blood work and a chest xray is indicated. Hope you get better soon.....please keep me posted on this. Love ya......Triplet

Silver...it is not unusual at all for a fever to get higher at night. Make sure you are getting lots of fluids....and taking something to bring the fever down. Love ya, Trip

    Silver....

It is not uncommon to have a normal temp during the day and have it go up at night. You drink more fluid during the day and that will help make your temp go down. I used to kiddingly call it "nocturnal hyper-thermia", meaning "night-time high temperature".

It sounds like you have a slight pneumonia, sometimes called "walking pneumonia". Only blood tests, (white cell count) and a chest X-ray will tell. Antibiotics will help if it is a bacterial condition. If it is a virus, you will just have to "wait it out". Go to the MD tomorrow without fail!!!! Drink plenty of liquids, rest, and take an anti-fever drug, like Tylenol, until you can see a doctor.

I hope you get better SOON!

    Let us know!!!

Hi there, I'm also an RN and you really need to go to your doctor regardless of how you feel in the am. It does sound like it could be pneumonia, which people tend to dismiss as serious...it can be very serious. It may very well be viral...I believe you said you have been on antibiotics since the 21st? If it were bacterial...you should be showing signs of improvement. However, since you have had the fever 5 days now, with the blood in your sputum (even if only streaked)..that is concerning. You really need to let your doc know this.

Hope you feel better, keep us updated!

    Hey silver

My son has had the flu since Thursday also. He has missed school since Friday, and the doc is saying this last 7-10 days. He runs a 103 plus at night, but stays around 100 during the day. He us just sleeping alot, and had bloody noses which he never gets, has to do with the humidity i am sure. He has not eaten in days and only taking water says his throat hurts to bad. You may feel this way for a couple more days, but do not feel alone, and I am sure I will be on my son's hit list to spread his germs too. I would suggest seeing a doc, I suffer from frequent bronchitis, and sometimes cough up blood, ecspecially when I am coughing really hard. Hope you start feeling better soon.
