~~~~~IT'S PROM NIGHT~~~~~
My little baby baby boy is out right now....
And wearing a tux for crying out loud!
My God, he is only a baby!
What happens if he needs his diaper changed?
What if he misses his mommy
What happens if he gets sad tonight??
OMG, what if he gets in trouble? Who is gonna smack him over the head?
Will he do bad things?
Or....will he be good. (probably good)
Gosh, I hope he doesn't have sex!!!
HE IS JUST MY FIRST BORN BABY. I GAVE HIM LIFE....I PUSHED HIM OUT....I WATCHED HIM ****LE AT MY BREAST!
That was only YESTERDAY!
How can he be gone ......how can he be on a date??
It has not been 18 years since I gave birth.
It has only been 18 minutes.....I'm sure of it.
GOD BLESS HIM......and keep him safe.
He is my precious newborn..........
and I love him soooooo much
Oh my.....I shouldn't blink my eyes for so long!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi Phensters....I'm having a "moment" can you tell?
Just wait....it will happen to you too....and then you will know how I feel.

Hugs,
Moon

Moon, I know exactly how you feel. My son is pretty shy and his first date was to the prom. Girl I hated it because he was really gaga over that girl. (and of course wasn't good enough for him LOL) It will all work out, it may not get easier but you'll survive. Take care
Are we there yet ???????????

I hear you Moon. My "baby" goes to his first prom next Saturday. He got asked to two different proms - times have changed! This is hard, isn't it?

Why thank you Paula/Clara.

However....none of this is really new to me.

I've had over a year to prepare for this.......and it still broke my heart.

Last year he had the same girlfriend for over a year (Marita) I loved her to death. I still talk/see her. He went to her Senior Prom last year (she is a yr.older).
And....at this high school...they do a formal Christmas dance each year.
We have done the tux and limo thing.....three times before tonight!!!

I guess I'm just emotional cuz....well....cuz
I'm "The Mom". LoL!!!!
His current girlfriend Jessica....looked absolutely beautiful tonight.
I can't wait to show off some pics.....have to wait for hubby to do them.

Did ya ever see last years pics??

I've posted them MORE than once.

They just look so damn cute!!

Here we go.......down memory lane....

This is Christmas Dance 2001
Josh and Marita

And another one

Last one

Sorry...I am such a show off when it comes to my kids!
I'm sure......VERY boring to everyone else.

Bye!

Red face
It's 1:40am and I still haven't heard from Josh.
I'm getting a little worried.

The Prom was in Galveston.....but I did think I would get a call saying they were back at Skips house by now.

Worry.
Worry.
Well......I just can't help myself.

Moony, what a cutie pie you have there! If only I were 15 years younger again, LOL, just joking. I wouldn't go back to 18 again for anything! So much wiser, and plumper now...... but that's another story.

My oldest is going to be 7 in July. How can this be? Didn't they just lay her on my tummy while saying "You have a daughter" a moment ago? It seems like just yesterday she was just a handful, now I can barely pick her up, her head comes up to my boobs when we stand side by side and her feet are almost as big as mine! When did that happen?

On top of which, she asked me tonight "Mom, why do people have sex?" Shortly followed by "Do you have to be in love to do it?" Oh-My-God! I told her honestly, no, you don't have to be in love, but it is ssssoooooo much better when you are. I also told her that people want to have sex because when you are old enough, care for someone (preferably love them) and trust them alot, sex feels good and you have hormones that make you want to do it. She asked me if it feels good like a backrub. I told her yes, but better and all over when it's right.

I never, ever thought I'd be having this conversation with her this soon! But I'd rather she get her questions answered by me than the teenagers on her bus (grades K-12 ride the same bus here.)

Oh well, before I know it she will be going to prom and there will be a whole new set of things for me to worry about. I don't think I'm ready for that yet!

Cool
Hi Beth

I feel bad posting last years pictures with last years girlfriend....lol...but....I don't have the ones we took tonight developed yet.
As soon as I can, I will post Josh and Jess together and then I won't feel bad.

Also....sometimes I get so sad that I never had a little girl. No first Barbie Doll...no first training bra...no first period...etc.
I love my boys...It's The I~HOP International House of Penises!!! LoL!

Beth...you remember I told you this...but the next 7 years of your daughters life....will go by even quicker than the last 7 years!

I swear..........it happens in the blink of an eye!

OMG OMG OMG....Josh just walked in....brb

Talking
Yippy Skippy

Josh just ran in the door to get his pillow (see...he really IS a baby...lol) and a change of clothes and in the 3 minutes he was here.....
he said,
"Prom was a total blast! The best dance and he took lots of pics like I told him to."

And then......~poof~...he was gone again.

They will dance and drink and party till......they drop to the floor and fall asleep.
Well...not my Josh...he will find a bed...lol he always does.

Ok......thanks ya'll for letting me "hang-out" in my old hang out on Prom Night!

I think I should get my arse in bed now.

Good Night,

Moon

I won't tell you how I finished my prom night! Let's just leave it at, I am a glad my Mom and Dad never found out we had a private party!

I hope I raise girls who are smarter than I was at that age. My Mom always said she was a virgin until she married and avoided all other discussion other than the mechanics of it. I wish she would have told me that until men are about 25 and learn a little self control, it really isn't that much fun for the girls/women involved, and that emotional involvement is as important as hormonal or "chemisty" involvement.

Mostly, I wish she'd told me that just because you made a bad choice in who to give your body to when you are young and dumb doesn't mean you have to make a life time commitment to them. It might have saved me (and my parents) a lot of money and a lot of heart ache ($7,000 for my first wedding and then $1000 for my divorce two years later, not to mention hospital bills for an attempted suicide and the following therapy. Funny, my $45 dollar second wedding was so much better and we're still together!)

Anyway, sounds like you have a wonderful, smart son. Give him a hug in the morning from all us Phensters. We're looking forward to the pictures.

Awe....I feel for ya Beth, really I do.
We all made mistakes when we were young....some...made more mistakes than others.

Without a doubt, I am in the MORE mistakes catagory. I grew up in Southern California during the 70's.
There was LOTS of Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll!
Sometimes I wonder....how did I make it. How did I survive???

I too......have scars.......deep ones...hell...I even have REAL scars. I have a huge one that goes clear across my left wrist. I put it there...when I was 16 years old.
Guess things were pretty bad at 16.

But...thank God I did not die.
Thank God.....YOU did not die.

Now we are older and wiser....and want to pour all the damn smarts we have accumulated over the years into our kids.
But we can't....they have to make their own mistakes...just like we did.

They will be ok.....I think we have taught them well......they know not to walk into the fire.
They might get a few little baby burns a long the way but they won't walk into the fire.

There I goooo....ramblin' again.

Moon
