    Post

i try not to post too much cause i don't want people to get sick of me. but i had to share how wonderful this day was. my husband had a lot of studying to do so i took our 3 kids to the park, it was a BEAUTIFUL day here in the northeast. i have not been to the park since last summer. i was amazed at how much fun i had with my kids. losing 120lbs, i ran and played with them, and even got on the swing and challanged my kids as to how high we could go. last summer, i could not fit in the swing. i cried. i cried today too, for how much i lost out on for so long. it's the little things too, not just the big events and slinky dresses. afterwards, my 3 year old son told me, "you're the bestest mommy in the world for playing with me today". i vow that i will never, ever, be unable to play with them again. hugs and kisses to you all.

JBaby, I am doing a happy dance for you!! That is so wonderful!!

My two wake up calls were when my oldest daughter said to a friend "My mom may be fat but at least she is nice, not like yours!" and shortly after that I saw myself in a floor to ceiling mirror for the first time in years. Even better, it was in a bathroom, on vacation, and I had just stepped out of the shower.

I sat down and cried. In my minds eye I didn't look that bad. The reality was a shock and it got me motivated.

That was December 2001, and I started Phen January 9th at 244 pounds. My final goal is 130-135. I've already lost 12 and I've started walking a mile a day. For my birthday in April, I want a bicycle.

I figure if I ever want to slack off on exercising and watching what I'm eating, I will go into our bathroom, take off all my clothes and look into the newly installed full length mirror. If that doesn't get me moving, nothing will.

Congratulations! I can't wait to fit into a swing comfortably again!
Inch by inch, pound by pound, gonna get this body down!

    good for you girl!!!!

I am thrilled at what an awesome day you had.
ps I always thought I'd wear more "girly" clothes if I had a better body... well I dont... its not the slinky dress;s and stuff that matter... it IS the small things~

keep up the good work girl!

    jbaby,
I am crying happy tears for you too. I can only dream of a day where I can run and play with my son.

Even if.... no WHEN (it's GOT TO BE WHEN!) I get weight off, I won't be able to, because of my knees.

Treasure every moment with your babies. Every jump, skip, hop, every bending down to scoop them up in your arms, they are all precious.

I am so happy for you!

    Talking

What a great thread! Im all teary eyed thinking about how kids affect our lives in such positive ways. My son is 5 and he hugs me alot around the waist. The other day he just hung there hugging and hugging. My husband looked over and watched him for a minute and said..."What is he doing?" (Dont get him wrong, Seth is very very loving, but he just stayed there for a while!) lol He looked up at him and said "Im loving Mommy! LOOK I can put my arms allll the way around mommy now!" That was a moment for me...I love that boy more than anything in this world and If losing weight means I can be a better mom or do more things with him..Im going for it! I felt so guilty at first, becuase my time at the gym takes away from the time I spend with him. But it has to be done. I waited too long to do something for ME! But I realize this isnt just for me. Its for him, I want to be here for him..always. Enough Babbling for me. Gosh, get me talking about my baby and Ill never stop! lol
