Difference between blu pills and yellow pills?

I am wondering if anyone knows the difference between the 2 colors of pills and how they affect your appetite. I finished my yellows ones (30mg) a couple of weeks ago until I could get my refill and my refill are blue. I don't feel like they are doing anything for me. The prescription bottle for both say the identical thing, and the manufacturer is the same, so I don't know. Maybe it's me

Isn't phen, phen? I never worried about what the pills looked like. I mean it's like gasoline...you can buy it from Amoco or Mobile but it's the same thing.

my 30 mg are time release with blue end and clear end with blue and white balls inside. I have some 15mg time release which are yellow and gray. Dont know eco labs makes mine.

I recall a big to-do last year when the companies (internet) were sending out the yellow ones regularly and many people did not like them-they wanted the blue and clear capsules, however, you say you like the yellow better, so go figure! I believe they are pretty much the same, just a different manufacturer. I do know that even with generic meds they have different "inactive" products and are supposed to have the same amount and quality of active ingredient, but I have heard from many that the inactive ingredients can occasionally play a part in how the drug effects a person.

Hi, this question seems to be asked quite a bit. And the first month I took Phen I was on the yellow capsule. Because of the price I switched to the blue/clear with blue and white beads in them. I LOVE THEM! I like them alot better then the yellow ones. They help my appetite MUCH better. From what I understand the blue/clear ones are time released and the yellow are not. And SUPPOSEDLY Eon Labs was going to discontinue making the yellow ones?? But who knows?? Like BJ said the pills do effect people different! I have been on them for 10 weeks and they still have the same great effect of surpressing my appetite!

What time do you take it? Do you take it on an empty stomach? I take mine between 10-11 am on an empty stomach and it works AWESOME!

The timed-release myth keeps circulating - I don't believe it's true. The fillers/binders are the difference in the pills. Technically, they should behave the same - but there are anecdotal reports of different reactions.

Ok, I all ready replied but here i go again. I dont get mine online i get mine at Osco Pharmacy locally. I asked about the pills a few times and about generic and brand name. The Pharmacist says that there is no difference in the actual medicine or potency. They are all FDA approved and when there is no generic like Meridia has no generic that is when it is so expensive. I take mine about 530 am on an empty stomach and dont eat untill about 10 on break or 12- noon at lunch.

Anyway after reading Nal's post about the time-release myth. Got me curious. SO I called my pharmacy and asked them and yes they comfirm in no where in the literature do they say they are extended realease. And that the yellow pill and the blue/clear have the same ingredients.And potentially should work the same.

I don't know WHERE I heard they were time released? So,I'm sorry for giving the wrong information.. LOL I didn't mean to! Just going by what I heard.

Regardless if it's in my head or whatever. I like the blue/clear ones better.. And think they work better. Maybe because I want to lose the weight so bad I am telling myself they are working.. LOL WHO KNOWS! It seems to be working for me though.

Oh, had to edit. Just wanted to say thanks to Nal for posting. Because now I know!

Me again, ok i just called my pharmacist again and what it is, its not a time release what it does is the actual meds stay in your body for 8-14 hours depending on your size and the mg you take. the manufactor does not make it a time release its the affect of the pill and how long it stays in the body.

I just went to the actual fda web site and looked up phentermine and found some interest facts on dosage and other stuff.

DOES ANYBODY TAKE THE WHITE ONES WITH THE BLUE SPECKS IN THEM (35.7MG)??? I CAN'T FIND A PICS ANYWHERE!!! I JUST STARTED TWO 5 DAYS AGO AND I DON'T REALLY FEEL MUCH DIFFERENT. ANYBODY PLEASE!!?!?!

go to image search and type in Phentermine and the three pills will show. yellow/gray 15 mg
blue/clear 30mg and white and blue speck 37.5mg

OK NOW I'M freaking out. the pills on d r u g s . c o m look totally different than what i have!! I have OVAL white ones with blue specks and they say A159. I got them off e- s c r i p t s -md. sorry if i sound like a rookie but i am worried cause knowone seems ot talk about the ones i have, AND i feel nothing different when i take them. i hope i didnt get some fakes. someone please reply if they have taken them and have the ones like mine. thanx

pb - Hi, don't freak out. I have the same ones. I posted the exact post as yours when I first got them. Nice people here reassured me that they were the real things. Started taking them at the end of March. Thirty pounds gone effects not wearing off yet. Lots of energy still. As "Martha" would say "IT'S A GOOD THING!"......

I take the same thing. They are the real deal. I take 1/2 pill at a time.

I got the same ones and they are working great for me. I also take 1/2 around 10 am and they seem to be working. If I have a real challenge coming up (ie a buffet dinner) I take the other 1/2 in the afternoon.

hey you gals...thanks you sooo much for replying! i was worried all last night (i dont have a computer at home) and its a huge relief to know they work. i still don't feel any different so i'm hoping they are just taking a while..?!?! I take 1/2 in the morning around 730 and then the other 1/2 around 1100-1130. should i just take the whole thing at once? (i know its different w/ everybody) but curious if anyone has had better effects with taking it all at once vs. halfing it.

I have the 37.5 white with blue specks and I take the whole thing. It seems to really help. Some people do the 1/2 and 1/2 thing...to keep the effects lasting longer into the evening. It's really up to you, I think it'll work either way. If you find yourself hungry later in the evening, try taking the first 1/2 around 10 and then the other 1/2 around 12 or 1. Just don't take it too late so that you can't sleep. I'm taking the whole thing at once right now...usually around 10 or 11...it seems to be lasting fairly well for now.
