okay i need some feed back here... bebesmom is going to check with her aunt so this isn't set in stone but here's what i have so far.

all the beach houses i have looked into want at the least a week, most want a months stay. so i wanted to see if anyone was interested in getting a VERY nice hotel. we can stay somewhere with an indoor pool, lazy river, whirlpool, exercise room, resturant and ocean front balcony for around 40.00 a night. myrtle beach has lots to do in the off season, there are outlet malls and restaurants all over that stay open year round. so there will be plenty to do. i'm going to check on the casino boats for those of you who want to gamble. i've never done it before but heard it's alot of fun. so let us know what you think about getting a hotel if we can't find a house. also we need to agree on a date. i'm open any weekend except november 16th.

I think I missed something to I thought we were
going to decide if it was Myrtle Beach or the
Outer Banks. I thought it was Outer Banks. Also

Another "UH OH" here too:

I didn't know it was decided to be Myrtle Beach over the Outer Banks.

Unfortunately, I cannot travel to Myrtle Beach; Outer Banks I can do.

Please let us know what happened or is happening!

nothing is set in stone yet. i was just letting you know what i've found so far. the reason i mentioned myrtle beach was i have a beach guide and it was easiest to find out what we can get there . they definatly have some great hotels with lots of amenities for very reasonable prices.

i am still looking at the outer banks as a possibility. i need to know what everyone wants to do. what are your ideas? i need a price range, dates, how many rooms, who's sharing rooms, what do you want to be able to do? what kind of room do you want? and all that good stuff. after i get all that i can do some more specific searching.

if your not really sure where you want to go do a search of outer banks nc and myrtle beach sc. that way you can get a better idea of each place and what they have to offer. i personally think myrtle beach has alot more to do than the outer banks but i'm kinda partial to MB. but don't let that stop you! just let us know what you want and we'll do our best to please everyone.

I can only do Outer Banks....anytime is fine; I will be able to attend for a long weekend. I don't mind sharing a room at a hotel, but I know houses can be rented by the week in Nags Head/Kill Devil Hills. Of course it also depends on the # of people attending. There is a large Holiday Inn around MP 9-12 that is ocean front, and will have off-season prices.

Personally, If I'm going to be at the beach, I'd like to do it ocean front.

That's it for me!

There is no way to please everyone with this idea. Maybe one month could be Myrtle Beach and the next month could be The Outer Banks, depending on who wants to go where. I have never been to the banks so I am thinking that would be fun but also, I love MB and would go every weekend if I had the time. Probably the best thing would be to get an exact idea from everyone interested.
If you wouldn't mind to send a PM to Hotmama or myself to let us know the following:

Where you are from (what city, state)
How far you would drive or fly (miles)
An approximate date (week/weekend or if flexible)
Price Range

That would give us an idea of what to plan and where.
I think a nice hotel would be great b/c we would have our own space if we decide to bring our family and we would also have a place to get together with everyone without feeling "weird" about staying with people that we didn't really know.

I hope this will help because personally, I can't wait to meet everyone and I don't won't anyone the get annoyed with this and pull out from the idea.

Thanks alot!
Denise

I think the first thing to figure out is where. It's hard to commit to a trip like this until one knows where it's going to be. For instance, Myrtle is too far south for me to reasonably drive.

Planning two separate destinations in two differing timeframes will allow more people to participate. If one destination is more to the North (DC, Philly, and Atlantic City have been suggested), more people may be able to attend. Some lucky ducks might get to go to both, who knows?

I'm going to start a poll in another thread just so we can easily quantify who wants to do what. That will make it so much easier to plan.

BebeMom and Hotmama, you two are doing a wonderful job on this, and it sounds like a blast. I hope you won't think I'm stealing your thunder by starting a poll but I really think it will increase the turnout and make the planning much easier.

Gerry - I wrote Bebesmom a PM and suggested using a poll. I think it will help narrow it down faster. Thanks for setting one up!
