Not to damper anyone's day but last night I went to a viewing for one of the guys from the firehouse. Just to give you a little background information. My husband is a volunteer firefighter for the town in which we live and I am a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the fire department. On Monday night one of the members father had a heart attack and passed away. It was sudden and the family was not prepared for it. They are in a complete state of shock. The gentlemen that passed away is also one of my customers at State Farm and he recently (within the last month and 1/2) painted the outside of the office. I didn't know him very long but he was such a sweet man.
I guess the point I am getting at is we don't know how much time we have left on this earth. Don't let what happened yesterday or last week affect today. Live for today not for the past. The past is over and we can not change it.
I hugged my hubby a lot tighter yesterday. I don't know what I would do if I ever lost him.
I am in tears as I write this. I am sorry this is so long and sad but I just had to get it off my chest.
    Amy

    Aww, hang in there, Amy!

You're right of course - today , this moment, is all we really know we have. It makes putting off until "later" things like reaching out to friends & family & living life fully seem not just unimportant, but almost dangerous.

My life has more dead people in in than the last act of "Hamlet". It teaches you not to let a day go by unappreciated.

One lovely thing about gatherings like you went to last night - the whole community is surrounding that family with a lot of love & support, aren't they? That sense of community is priceless.

    Take care,
    Lee
