Hi,

This is the first time that I have ever "posted" anything on this site. I am a "newbie" so bear with me! LOL

I started taking phentermine like 3 weeks ago. When I started I was 246 (I had lost 4 lbs the week before I started taking the phen by doing WW)and as of last Friday I was 239.5. WOOHOO Well, my question is.........the very next day after the Friday weigh in at home the scale said that I weighed 242.5. Then this morning it said 242.0. Now, am I doing something wrong? Shouldn't I have lost more weight than this and WHY IN THE WORLD is my weight fluctuating like that. I mean there is NO WAY that I could have gained 3 lbs in a day. Needless to say this has me all bummed out. I've been trying to convince myself that it's because I haven't drank my water for the past 4 days and that I am "retaining" fluid. May not be true but throw me a bone would ya! LOL All I eat is lunch and dinner and I don't snack. If I do snack then I eat something like Baked Lays or something like that. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? Any help would be SO MUCH appreciated.

Are you eating enough. If you dont eat enough you will not lose. Eat around 1200 cals a day. Or your body will think there is a shortage of food and not let the fat go! And are you exercising enough? Eat five small meals aday, adding up to 1200 cals a day.

Hi Tonia,

First of all, welcome here! Sounds like you are off to a good start

Secondly, you have have have to drink your water. & lots of it. I personally average about 100+ ounces a day, and you wont believe all the good things it does for me.

First of all it helps my skin, it's clear as peaches and cream Secondly it helps to keep you hrmm...regular and thirdly it helps wash out sodium. It does a lot of other great things too.

AND...you have to eat! Weird as it sounds, if you arent eating enough your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to every last morsel you put in your mouth. Depending on your weight and a few other factors, a good place to start is around 1200 calories.

Go to fitday dot com and register. (Its free, and its GREAT!) Here you can log your calories, log your weighloss, set goals for weight loss etc. journal your progress, and make sure you are getting enough nutrients n such. It makes a huge difference to see things in writing (for me at least) and it will help keep you honest with those calories.

Anywho, good luck to you and post often. This forum helps IMMENSELY if you should need advice or just an ear to listen.

See ya!

Oh yeah, don't forget regular exercise. Walk every night, do something you enjoy so it doesnt seem like such work!

As much as I don't want it to be, fall then winter is coming, so play outside while its still nice!

One thing that noone said that is really important is EAT BREAKFAST!!!!! It gets your metabolism going right away in the morning. I was at a standstill for 17 days straight my 3-5 week of phen and come to find out I was not eating enough!!!! I started tracking what I was eating and it was only about 800-900 calories, my body was fighting to hang on to every ounce. Because I have alot of weight to loose I found out that I can loose a healthy 3 lbs a week by eating 1600 calories, and that is not counting the more I can drop by burning off fat by excercising. I have found that tracking with myfitnesspage dot com has helped me ALOT, it is not free like fitday dot com but is only $25 per year. (That site calculated that to lose 3 lbs per weight from my current weight the # of calories I needed to consume and it subtracts excercise calories burned from what you eat to let you eat more or burn more)
