Hey there AngieJo...! I only weigh in at the doctor's office -- and even then that is only ONCE a month.

As to your 7 pound loss, that is GREAT! Here's my question, on your first visit to the doctor, what time was it? Had you eaten right before, etc? How about this last visit? Did you wear a different outfit?
If your first visit was in the morning and you maybe only had breakfast -- and then this last visit was in the afternoon after both breakfast AND lunch.. and maybe water or pop, etc., plus maybe you were wearing heavier clothes.... then all of that would add up to a different weight. Heck, I have some sweaters that weigh three pounds! I will only make my appointments in the a.m. (no later than 10:30). I almost always wear the same outfit or something very similar -- and I usually don't have anything for breakfast (and just enough water for vitamins/meds).

For me personally, I feel that then the reading on the scale is more "true." I don't starve myself the day before or take laxatives or anything like that (because then the reading really would be "false," even though it would probably read a lower weight).
Seven pounds is really good. My officemate (now over-the-cubicle-wall-mate) just started phen not so long ago. Her first month she lost four pounds and this last month (January) she lost three. Granted, her life is more complicated than mine (she's 42 with a 2 year old son AND a husband who is parapalegic (sp?) whereas I am single). -- Don't get me wrong, her life really is great... but I don't have to deal with all that she does. Anyhow... what I am trying to say is that everyone is different in how they lose weight. Maybe you will stay on the course of losing 7 pounds a month? That wouldn't be so bad, would it? I lost 18 pounds my first month (August) and have lost 4 pounds a month consistently since then. Now, I could get upset that it is coming off so slowly... or... I can look at it from the perspective that the slower it comes off, the higher the chances that it will stay off. Heck, if I lost 160 pounds in three months, what would I have learned? Anything that would have stuck in my mind as a good habit? Probably not. Now I can actually have a rational conversation with myself on why ordering a "Pizzone" from Pizza Hut isn't such a great food choice. I can make my OWN here at home and actually be in charge of what ingredients go in it.
