Hi back atcha, goaldie!
Understand that all the pill does is supress your appetite; it it doesn't make the weight fall off. perhaps the hardest thing to do on phen is make sure you're eating enough to keep your body from thinking food is scarce & so it has to hang on to every calorie for dear life. Small meals more often works best for me - I eat 6-7 times a day, but not too much at one time.
If you truly don't know where to start, to go the American Heart Association's website & follow their link to a heart-healthy diet; they've got a nice table there where you can figure out how many servings a day of what kinds of food & what equals a serving size.
It does matter what kind of food you eat, not from a phen standpoint, but a health standpoint. Probably the biggest barrier to maintaining a healthy weight in the US is our dependence on highly processed, prepared, and pre-packaged foods. The closer a food is to it's original state (like an apple, whole grains, a piece of chicken, an egg), the more nutrients are still contained within it, and the harder your body has to work to break it down & free those nutrients. Those foods are more filling and stay with you longer than, say, a nutrigrain bar - which TV will tell you is healthy, but is actually a small package with a lot of calories, a lot of sugar, and not a lot of nutritive value. Just an example.
It can all seem overwhelming at first, but you'll be amazed at how quickly you'll pick this stuff up.
Good luck & be healthy!
