Thread: What's the average weight loss?

I've been on 30 mg caps for 6 months and have lost 25-29 pounds. I'm happy with the weight loss but I'm feeling that it seems to be going slow. I would like to lose another 25 pounds. The phen is not as effective as it was early on, but it still does help me in controlling cravings and in the energy dept! I'd like to hear what other people's results have been in the first 6 months. Also has anyone experienced hair loss (thinning out all over to patchy bald spots where the hair is regrowing?) Not sure if stopping meds will help hair to grow back or if I should just continue taking meds and take vitamins and eat more protein. Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi Jen,
I haven't been on phen for 6 months, I only started on Feb. 12th of this year. And I have dropped 27 pounds. I know that it will slow down.
I haven't had any trouble with hair loss, but I know I have read on here where some have so I am sure they will reply to ya on that one.
Good luck and you are doing GREAT too!!
It is wonderful to drop those extra pounds!!
    Keep it up,

    Hello,

I am taking phen 37.5 mg, I started in Feb and I lost 20 pounds the first month. I started eating correctly the day I started the pill. I cut out all the fried foods and sweets and I only eat red meat once a week if I eat it all during the week. I limit my carb intake as well (like potatoes, rice, etc. My weight has slowed down. Since I lost the first 20 pounds I have lost only 8 pounds, but I have started excersing to try to speed the weight loss up. I hope that I could help.

    Hiya Jen,

Congrats on the 27 pounds gone!

I also have noticed my hair thinning out since taking Phen. You might want to try Nioxin shampoo & conditioner. Switiching over to Nioxin has seemed to control it a bit for me. I just hope it doesnt get worse

Jen, and to everyone here really~ You Ppl. cannot DEPEND on these pills to rid your body of all your fat! You MUST learn to EXERCISE AS WELL !! Once you all have the diet part down, begin to exercise, you will see significant changes in your body and muscle definition. It isnt just going to happen by eating right and taking these pills. You must learn to exercise at least 45 mins a day or at least 4 times a week.
The phen ONLY helps to boost your metabolism & curb hunger for a few months then it adapts to the Phen, so you need to cycle off
of it for awhile. But to keep your body burning FAT calories & fat Tissue you should be doing some type of exercising for at least 45 mins four times a week. I am not trying to sound mean or anything here I am just trying to help you out.

As for me and my weight loss I have been on & off these for years, I have only been on these for a month now this year (2002) and so far I have lost about 12 to 15 lbs.

    sw: 148
    cw: 132
    gw: 115-110 lbs.

Well I started phen in Nov of last year. So I have been on it now just about 4 1/2 months and I must say it is working fine for me. Dlady- There are some points that I agree with you on. You do need to exercise. Now I have only been walking about 2 miles a day and I haven't done that this past week just haven't had the time. I do think drinking tons of water is also very helpful. I have changed my eating habit some but not completely. I have cut sweets out of my diet completely I still eat what I used to eat but much less. As of today I am 231 lbs. that is just 101 lbs till my goal. I started at 302 1/2 lbs so to date I have lost 71 1/2 lbs. It can be done.
Just wanted to put my two cents in. The effects of the medicine have not worn off and they seem to be the same as when I started.
