I have PCOS and have been on phen for a week and two days. So far I have lost 10 lbs. However, I am also on glucophage for PCOS. From what I have read glucophage helps with the weight.

First i would like to say ....
WELCOME TO PHENLAND!
I have pcos and started loosing with phen in April. I can longer take the phen because it just stopped working for me But I have continued to loose with out it and I have done very well!
Lost 20 on the phen then 30 more without it! Total loss to date is 50!!
I just want to let you know how I have done it.
Low carbs. Well more like lower carbs. I try to stay away from as many "white" carbs... White bread, white pasta..ect..
I eat whole wheat breads and pasta. I really read the labels and try to keep my carbs to a min. as possible. I know that this sounds immpossible, but it is not. I do not do Atkins because that is waaaaaaayyyyyyy to few carbs! Just try to watch how many you get. The carbs that I do eat, I try to get them in early on in the day, so my body is not going to store them while I sleep. I rarley have carbs for dinner. Just a not about slim fast bars and shakes. They have TON of carbs. I do buy the slimfast bars, but when I eat them I only eat half. It is a better for you snack than junk food!
I also keep protein bars around. You just have tofind ones that have lower carbs. Like 15 or less is what I like in a protein bar.

Of course, watching the fats as well. Lower them. And up the protein. Eat your veggies and fruits.

Another very important thing is drinl your water! Alot of people have a problem with that, but it is very important!!!! When I have days when my water intake is low, the scale seems to move very slowly. I get in 100+ oz a day. They say you should try to get in at least 64oz a day, but that is for people in the "normal' weight range. I know that 100+ is great for me, and it helps!!

Hope that this helped! You can email me with any questions you may have. sbj3101 at msn . com
Without the spaces. They like *** out some of the email addys!

Hi Tangerine, and welcome
I have PCOS, and have been taking Phentermine for a month now. So far I have lost at least 23lbs.. perhaps more because a little later today I'm going to be at my docs office to check my progress. Its been a miracle to see the weight come off. My doctor put me on Phentermine because I was on the verge of diabetes and some other health problems. Better to sacrifice a little bit now, than to sacrifice my health later because I was stubborn. lol
What squidgers said I completely agree with! Staying away from carbs can be hard, but its the best thing I've done for myself. At first I really limited my carbs to the point where I got very few. But I found out that if I had some here and there during the day I felt better. So I've eased up on my restrictions a bit, and I'm still losing weight.
And of course, I drink lots of water. I can't get away without saying that around here lol. I don't drink as much as I should, but considering I would hardly drink any before this.. its great. When I was younger, I heard something that made me think. Lots of people somehow mistake thirst for hunger. They mistake the signal the body sends when it doesn't get enough fluids, and they eat instead. I wasn't too sure about that when I first heard it, but I think that it has at least proven true in me.
Well, I'm off to get my daily walk in. Welcome again! This is a great place, and everyone is so lovely.

Wow.. while I was typing away you snuck in and posted before me. Oh, just something that stands out too. My doc's real first name is Tangerine.. so your post really jumped out at me.
