I just got back from Chicago...I was there for a week. Anyways, I weighed when I got home, and gained 2 lbs back. I was doing so well before I left. I'm so disgusted w/myself. Summer time is coming, and I don't want to be FAT this summer.

I know it sounds like alot (2lbs) but its not the end of the world! Hop right back on the wagon and start losing again!!!! Sometimes it is good to gain a little bit and then it seems to come off easier. Does that make sense? Gotta go bring my daughter to the dentist-vacation this week! I'll talk to you later!

    Hey TexasGirl -

Sounds like you need a time out! Give yourself a few minutes to breathe deeply and think about your goals. It sounds weird but trust me. You went on vacation, you had fun, you got to see Chicago. Now you are back, you can refocus on your weight loss plan, it's a whole new week.

Write down a mini-goal for yourself to aim for this week. It can be how much exercise you will do, how much water you will drink, etc. Give yourself some small victories here. It's overwhelming to think of summer and worry about that. It's April 15. Set a goal for April 22. Then next Monday set a goal for April 27. Take a little at a time. It is discouraging to think months down the road and not see yourself looking or feeling any better then. Don't beat yourself up over what may or may not happen. Just focus on right now.

You CAN DO IT! Here's a big RAH RAH RAH for you. We all have our moments when we feel frustrated with the scale. Here is something my sweet doctor advised that really helped - Invest in yourself, don't invest in the numbers on the scale. You are so much more than a number, you are working so hard to become strong and healthy. Take a minute to relax and make a plan for just this week. There are plenty of people out in the world waiting to take a knock at you - don't make yourself one of them! Hang in there. YOU CAN DO IT!

Thank you so much. You really lifted my spirits up. I am going to sit down today, and make some short term goals for myself.

    Thumbs up

I'm glad that helped. I think we all hit days when the whole process feels so overwhelming and the progress doesn't seem to be coming fast enough. Setting weekly goals has really helped me. I was going to suggest something for you - why don't you post your weekly goal to the challenges? That way it's in writing and you can update your success for everyone else to see. It sounds silly but I know there are a lot of people here going through the same thing. You can set a challenge for water or exercise - and there is a greater motivation to stick to your goal if it's posted to the site! Just a thought. You are doing great. I didn't mention, I keep a little book on my night table where I write down my weight and measurements every 2 weeks. If I have a bad day or particularly good day, I jot it down. Then I have something to look back on. My weight loss has almost completely stopped for the past 3 weeks but I am still losing and improving so having that resource helps me when I feel frustrated.

I think the book you talked about is a great idea. I think I might do the same. i really need to take my measurements. I have went from a size 22 to a 18, so I know I've lost some inches. It just seems the last few weeks, I can't get myself motivated to go workout or anything. i'm going to do better though cus I hate this feeling.

Thanks Cheeks I was planning on doing the diet, but I didn't make it to the store last night, and I didn't have ANY of the food. But, I am planning on going to the grocery store after work tonight, so I will have to start it tomarrow.
